High Street is an attractive 5 bedroom family home that has been recently modernised to an excellent standard, which can sleep up to 12 guests. With enormous rooms, a beautiful garden, vegetable patch and for the true country experience, even chickens! The property sits in the heart of Ascott-under-Wychwood with lovely walking routes from the doorstep through beautiful countryside and to the boarder of the Wychwood forest. The village just 4 miles from Charlbury where you can get a direct train to London Paddington to explore the hustle and bustle of this incredible city.


LIVING
Entrance to the hallway through a small boot room, an excellent place to store coats and boots.
Large open plan kitchen, fully equipped with island, bar stools and Sonos speakers. The dining table has seating for 10 guests
Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, loo and access to the garden
Living room with large comfortable corner sofa, TV (with Sky including Sky Sports), open fire and small work desk. Large French doors lead out to the terrace

BEDROOMS
Master bedroom: Super king with sofa at bottom of the bed, walk in dressing room and private bathroom. The bathroom has a separate shower, bath and loo. This bedroom has stunning views over the back garden and the countryside beyond.
Bedroom 2: Double with en-suite bathroom and sofa
Bedroom 3: Standard single bed, with pull out single mattress that can be used as second bed.
Bedroom 4: Double room off a spacious playroom

A sofa bed can be made available on request. The sofa bed is located between bedrooms 4 and 5, along with a pool table, darts board and a TV (with Sky).

OUTSIDE
Outside the back of this stunning house, there is a beautiful terrace area with firepit, BBQ and plenty of seating for all guests.
To the left of the terrace there is a vegetable patch, you are more than welcome to help yourselves but please leave some for other guests.
The garden is mostly laid to lawn, bordered by mature trees and flower beds, and opening onto the field beyond. At the bottom of the garden is a chicken coop and some very friendly chickens. You are welcome to collect the eggs for breakfast and really get in to the spirit of the countryside!
To the front of the property there is parking for 3 cars and roadside parking.

StayCotswold are now offering a flexible cancellation policy allowing our guests to book with confidence, knowing that if you cancel for any unforeseen circumstances that arise, you the guest will be returned your booking deposit or full payment depending upon what has already been paid. This will apply to all new bookings placed to arrive after the 1st August 2020.

  • There is a travel cot and high chair avalible, however please note the high chair is unsuitable for infants under 18 months old, and there is no safety strap

Things to Note...
If you choose not to add damage deposit cover at the point of booking, then we will require a security deposit of £500.

Prices stated are based on an occupancy of up to 9 guests. An additional supplement of £75 per person will be applied, up to the maximum occupancy of 12. Please contact us for further details regarding additional occupancy as it is subject to sleeping configurations and permission.

Events are not permitted without prior consent.

Check in is from 16:00

Check out is by 10:00 on weekdays and Saturdays, and 11:00 on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Location information

The village of Ascott-under-Wychwood is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, in an Area Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within the village there is a village shop, a fantastic local pub and a local train station. Only 4 miles away from the property is the small market town of Charlbury, which has a railway station with direct routes to London Paddington.

The surrounding countryside provides wonderful walking and riding routes along a network of footpaths and bridleways. Ascott-under-Wychwood is in easy reach of the historical market town of Burford, the market town of Charlbury and the Wychwood’s. Slightly further afield are the cities of Oxford and Cheltenham which provide the main shopping and cultural centres for the area.
