If you are after a special occasion venue that is luxurious and private, then look no further than The Lodge at Winchcombe. The views from the balcony are amazing, with acres of private woodland to explore, as well as many idyllic Cotswold villages on the doorstep.

Property details

Built in 1904, The Lodge is a stunning Cotswold stone property in the charming Saxon town of Winchcombe. Located less than 5 miles from Cheltenham racecourse and with market towns of Evesham, Cirencester, and Stow-on-the-Wold close by.

This extremely well-maintained 11 bedroomed retreat has a great deal of space. The bedrooms can accommodate up to 24 guests (two rooms have an extra single), with a digitally adjustable king and super-king beds for a blissful night’s sleep. With a huge entrance hall, three separate lounge areas, and a snug, entertaining is made easy. Ideal for celebrating with family and friends whilst also lending itself to corporate events. Every-one will be able to find the perfect spot, whatever the occasion.

The large and elegant dining room, with wine fridges, can comfortably seat 22 and has a `coffee bar’ with hot water on tap.

Benefitting from an estate guardian on the grounds, the house is unstaffed except for breakfast. A full English breakfast is laid out self-service style each morning in the dining room. Everything then being cleared away for you before staff disperse for the day.

A perfect escape for any time of year. Summertime, open and airy, alfresco in the loveliest courtyard with water feature, undercover barbeque and plenty of seating. Relax on the balcony, viewing the glorious countryside this part of the world has to offer. Not to be missed is a wander through the 27-acre private wood, with a good chance of catching sight of a deer or two. In wintertime, the cosy lounge areas beckon, with log burners on both floors and underfloor heating, along with two bars for liquid refreshment. With sumptuous throws on the sofa’s to make you feel very much at home, this really is the most delightful place to stay!


LIVING
There are 3 reception rooms with sofas and TV's and snug, the larger bar is in the downstairs reception room and the smaller bar opens out onto a large balcony from which the stunning views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed. The private dining room, with seating for 22 offers the perfect dining experience.

BEDROOMS
There are 11 beautiful en-suite bedrooms each with king-size or super king beds which have all been individually designed with luxury and comfort very much in mind. All bedrooms benefit from remote-controlled beds, coffee making machines, and TVs. The epitome of luxury (two of these rooms also have a single bed for child use only).

OUTSIDE
Explore the 27 acres of private woodland and relax with a glass of wine in the lovely secluded courtyard or gardens, with outdoor seating and BBQ facilities.

The Finer Details

StayCotswold are now offering a flexible cancellation policy allowing our guests to book with confidence, knowing that if you cancel for any unforeseen circumstances that arise, you the guest will be returned your booking deposit or full payment depending upon what has already been paid. This will apply to all new bookings placed to arrive after the 1st August 2020.

Things to Note...

Although the kitchen is not open for guest use, a full English breakfast (actually a little more, with cereals, croissants, fruit salad) is included in the price. In the evenings, if guests are not wishing to eat out, we can organise an (exceptionally good) local chef to come in and cater, bringing with them a member of serving staff. This would need to be organised ahead. The alternative, if a ` home-cooked’ meal was more appropriate, or sandwiches, etc at lunchtime, we may be able to arrange this in­­-house.

If you choose not to add damage deposit cover at the point of booking, then we will require a security deposit of £950.

Events are not permitted without prior consent.

Check out is by 10:00 on weekdays and Saturdays, and 11:00 on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Location information


Winchcombe is a lovely Cotswold village which is home to the historic Sudeley Castle and has a high street made up of independent shops, cafes and a fantastic deli. The Lodge is well placed for exploring the many stunning Cotswold town and county walks, right on the doorstep, plus the regency town of Cheltenham is close by with its famous racecourse.
