Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Littlestock Shepherd’s Hut is located in the picturesque village of Shipton-under-Wychwood, which forms of part of The Wychwoods, with a fabulous selection of gastropubs on your doorstep. Enjoy a visit to The Lamb in Shipton-under-Wychwood, The Hare in Milton-under-Wychwood or The Swan in Ascott-under-Wychwood. There are many footpaths on its doorstep including The Oxfordshire Way, which runs past Littlestock Shepherd’s Hut and is simply wonderful when bluebells are out!
For your shopping essentials, there is a local Co-op in Milton-under-Wychwood.
Shipton-under-Wychwood sits in the heart of the North Cotswolds and is perfectly placed for visiting the much loved towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Cirencester, Bourton-on-the-Water and Kingham, as well as popular attractions including the Cotswold Wildlife Park, a great day out for all the family including four-legged companions, Birdland Park and Gardens and Asthall Manor.

  • The firepit is provided at the discretion of the owner. Due to the long grass in the meadow, the firepit will not be provided in dry or windy weather 
  • Neither the firepit nor the stove should be left alight when the guests are not in residence
  • There is no central heating at the property, however an electric heater is provided in cold weather to complement the wood-burner
  • Supply of wood provided for the wood burning stove
  • Throughout the year, the meadow is periodically home to local sheep which graze on the grass. An electric fence is active at the bottom of the meadow when the sheep are in residence
  • This property is not connected to the mains water supply, water is therefore provided via a well, with the drinking water filtered and UV sterilised. Bottled water is provided, if preferred
  • This property has a biodigester and no product other than toilet paper should be flushed down the loo at any time
  • Deep-fat frying is not permitted since this is the most common cause of kitchen fire
  • Steps lead up to the property with a hand-rail and step grip surface
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking, vaping, candles or nightlights are permitted throughout the property

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 2 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is between 15:00-17:00 and check out is by 11:00
  • Littlestock Shepherd’s Hut has a lovely private outdoor space for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that loud music is not played outside
  • Littlestock Shepherd’s Hut is a self-contained property in the grounds where the owners live
  • Guests can use the telephone at the owner’s home for emergency calls
  • Guests are welcome to fish in season if you have a rod licence, and follow the byelaws for the South East Region: www.gov.uk/guidance/regional-rod-fishing-byelaws-south-east-region
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
