Location Information

Maize is tucked away on a side street in the centre of bustling Stow-on-the-Wold. Overlooked by St Edward's Church, the market square is home to a number of pubs, boutique shops and tearooms, yet retains its old town stocks, ancient cross and narrow alleys as a reminder of the town's history and connections to the wool trade.
For your shopping essentials, there is a mini Co-op in The Square, less than a minutes' walk away, or a Tesco Superstore, less than one mile away.
Stow is well-placed for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the North Cotswolds such as Winchcombe, Chipping Campden, Broadway and The Slaughters.

We have stayed at this property a few times several years ago and always found it very clean and in a good location for us. However this time we were disappointed with it. The bathroom had mould on the tiles and when we used the shower, the bathroom floor flooded. We called the number that was given to us and the next day a man came to unblock the drain in the shower and put some bleach down the drain and on the tiles. He also came back the next day and cleaned the tiles more thoroughly. All of this should have been done prior to our stay!!!! Most disappointing. It was obvious that the property must have changed hands as the lady that owned it before would never have let it in this condition.
Excellent location, just a minute's walk from town centre. Comfortable base for cycling and walking break. All you need for a short break - shower room, microwave and plenty of plates, cups and dishes. Could do with a towel rail in the shower room though.

Thank you Geoff. We are really pleased you found Maize so well located for visiting the Cotswolds and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Found difficulty in locating the property as the name Maize was not displayed. We were disappointed with the kitchen facilities for self catering, would have been better with a hob and pans for cooking full meals rather than just a microwave oven. insufficient cooking utensils, peelers, large jugs, draining spoons, boards etc. Coffee pot and teapot only suitable for one cup not for two people. No towel rails in bathroom and no heating there so towels don't dry.

Many thanks for your constructive feedback Frances. We have taken steps to ensure all our guest can find their way to the front door of each holiday home by utilising What3Words. This unique code is contained within the welcome letter and we strongly recommend all our guests look into this before they depart for their Cotswold holiday. As Maize is a base from which to explore the surrounding area, and not intended as a full self-catering stay, the kitchenette is not fully equipped. We look forward to you booking with us again soon.
