Set in the quintessential Cotswold market town of Fairford, Number Four Bank House was formally part of the old town bank. An old historic building that was fully renovated in 2019 into four private residences, the old bank really does mix old charm with sleek stylish design and has recently been awarded a ‘4-star gold award’ from Visit England to reflect this high standard and quality accommodation.
Enjoy summers’ nights in the private garden with a glass of your favourite tipple. Fantastic country and river walks surround the small market town for you to explore at your leisure or venture further afield and find some of the hidden gems the Cotswolds has to offer.
Easy to get to from London and with good access to Oxford, Cheltenham, and Bath, it is a perfect place for couples or friends to get spend time together.

  • The gate to the property is accessed off the High Street through a quaint passageway. The front door is at the end of a landscaped garden with living area on the first floor and bedrooms on the second floor

The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250.00 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Fairford is 8 miles from Cirencester 7 miles from the Cotswold Water Park, is 5.5 miles from Bibury and 9 miles from the Cotswold Wildlife Park. The nearest pub with restaurant is the Bull Inn and there are coffee shops plus the Co-op supermarket.The town lies on the Cotswold Hills on the River Coln. Cirencester has a rich mixture of boutique shops and coffee bars. Slightly further afield are the larger centres of Cheltenham, Oxford and Swindon.


Excellent property. Cooking facilities outstanding and everything you would need from an equipment point of view. The apartment is very well laid out and spacious and has very comfortable furnishings including the beds. Although it is a busy village square, parking was never a problem and we didn't have to use the car park at the end of the street. A good base for exploring other towns and villages and plenty of walking nearby. While we have been to various parts of the Cotswolds in the past, we discovered Burford Garden Company - wow - what a place - not your normal garden centre but if you get the opportunity to go don't miss it, it's fabulous, must be one of the best in the country.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Positives: We loved our stay. Apartment is luxurious and very well equipped, especially in the kitchen. As caffeine addicts we very much appreciated the nespresso machine! The garden is gorgeous and seating area very attractive. Outside lighting is well thought out and effective. We had no problems with parking even on market day. Fairford is very pretty with a good variety of shops and restaurants / cafes. We recommend The Bull for good food and warm welcome. Lots of attractions are within 40 minute drive - we particularly enjoyed Cirencester outdoor pool and a trip to Oxford. To be aware of: The entrance to Four Bank House is via an alley that runs down side of the building, through a couple of gates then down a (beautiful) garden path to get to the rear of the property. There is a set of stairs to get to the first floor (kitchen, living room) and more stairs to get to the bedrooms. This was fine for us but might not be for everybody. The windows are single glazed so noise from people on the high street can be heard. This was only a problem for us once or twice during the week. The garden seating area is adjacent (though a stone wall separates) to the bin storage area. We could smell the bins when sitting there, though masked it with a citronella candle. We’re keen recyclers and would have appreciated more information on how rubbish is separated and where to put the bins on rubbish collection day.
