Peppercorn Cottage is a quintessential Cotswold stone holiday home which sleeps six guests, in three well-appointed bedrooms, with two bright and airy bathrooms. The stylish ground floor living areas benefit from underfloor heating, and lead out into the wonderful garden which boasts plenty of seating, a charcoal BBQ and a fire pit, a great outdoor space to enjoy all year round. This Grade II listed dog friendly holiday cottage has lovely character features including exposed beams, a cosy wood burner and a roll top bath, and enjoys far-reaching rural views from the upper levels.

This three bedroom holiday cottage in South Woodchester is the ideal retreat for a group of friends or family looking for a relaxing break in the South Cotswolds. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

The pretty front garden comprises a small lawn and patio area with outdoor table and seating for four. The stunning garden at the rear is laid out across multiple tiers and features a patio area with outdoor furniture and charcoal BBQ, a lawn with two Adirondack chairs, decked area with seating for four, as well as a final elevated tier complete with seating and fire pit, a peaceful spot from which to enjoy country views
Within the shed there is a washing machine/tumble dryer, iron and ironing board

The Finer Details

  • Bed linen and towels are provided 
  • Free on street parking is available close by
  • 1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided) 
  • 2 medium sized dogs are welcome for an additional £40 per booking per dog. At the owner's request, we politely ask that dogs remain on the ground floor and sleep in the kitchen. For further pet rules, please visit our FAQs

  • Due to the drop between levels in the unenclosed tiered garden, young children and dogs should be supervised at all times
  • Charcoal BBQ with starter supply of charcoal provided from April to September (guests are responsible for providing charcoal outside of these months and for cleaning BBQ after use)
  • Gas central heating system and electric underfloor heating on the ground floor
  • Starter supply of wood provided for the wood burning stove from October to March
  • There are stone steps to access the property and reasonably steep stairs up to the second floor
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted, though other same sex groups can enquire 
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 11:00
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Peppercorn Cottage is located in South Woodchester, a quiet village with a picturesque high street. Its neighbour, North Woodchester, is home to a country pub and a community run shop and post office. Nearby Woodchester Park, owned by the National Trust, is a secluded valley with various walking trails to explore, and Slimbridge Wetland Centre, a 100 acre conservation site with activities for all age groups, is only a short drive away.
For your shopping essentials, there are supermarkets in Nailsworth and Stroud.
South Woodchester is well-placed for visiting the Cotswold towns of Nailsworth, Painswick, Tetbury and Cirencester, and further afield destinations such as Bath, Cheltenham and Oxford are easily accessible.
