Primrose Cottage is an end of terrace Cotswold stone property dating back to the 1800s that sympathetically combines wonderful original features, including stone mullion windows, with modern facilities. Sleeping four guests (no children aged eight or under permitted, except for one baby not yet walking), in two beautifully appointed bedrooms with a large bathroom, it is set over three floors and has a beautiful garden to enjoy.

Accommodation
This two bedroom holiday cottage in the charming village of Blockley is perfectly suited for two couples, or a family with older children, looking to explore the countryside and many attractions the North Cotswolds have to offer. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Ground Floor

Full of character with an exposed Cotswold stone wall, original beams and inglenook fireplace with wood burner, Smart TV with Apps (account holders only, please note there is no TV reception at the property) and DVD player, Bluetooth speaker, two-seater sofa, two armchairs and selection of board games

Stable door opening onto the garden, electric cooker, four-ring gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, combined washing machine/tumble dryer and table and four chairs

First Floor

Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2)
Double bed, wardrobe and views of the lane and brook below

Family bathroom
Bath with handheld shower attachment, loo and wash basin

Second Floor

Master bedroom (Sleeps 2)
Stairs lead into a spacious dual aspect room, wrought iron king size bed, clothes hanging rail, armchair, mirror and hair dryer
There is a door at the bottom of the stairs

Outside
Pretty patio with table and four chairs, two steps up to a stretch of lawn with shrubs to one side which is enclosed with a gate, beyond which is a second garden area with countryside views and gate leading directly to local walks. The flowing brook runs along the full length of the garden and there is a charcoal BBQ during the summer.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Primrose Cottage is located in the picturesque village of Blockley with stunning countryside views and many walking routes to explore as it benefits from being on the Heart of England Way, Diamond Way and Monarch's Way long distance routes. It has an acclaimed cafe serving delicious evening meals, a well-stocked shop plus two local pubs.
Nearby attractions include Batsford Arboretum, a must see in Autumn and Sezincote House and Gardens for its unique architecture in the Mughal style of Rajasthan. The well-known market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and pretty villages of Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water offer plenty of opportunities to taste the delights of the local region.

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Regrettably, Primrose Cottage does not accept children under the age of 8. Babies who are not yet crawling/walking are accepted, and whilst babies do not count towards the occupancy figure, the occupancy can only be exceeded by one additional babe in arms
  • Bed linen and towels are provided 
  • Free on-street parking is available close to the cottage.The walk from the end of the road, where luggage can be unloaded, to Primrose Cottage is approximately 75 yards, on a flat footpath alongside the brook.
  • 1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided) 
  • Sorry, no pets

  • Blockley is in a valley and guests should be aware that mobile phone reception can be poor
  • Telephone provided for local calls only
  • Smart TV with Apps (guests to use their own login details), please note there is no TV reception at the property for Freeview channels
  • Enclosed garden, there is a fast flowing brook running though the garden
  • Charcoal BBQ provided during the summer months (guests are responsible for providing charcoal and cleaning BBQ after use)

  • Starter supply of wood provided for the wood burning stoves from October to April only 
  • Due to the steepness of the stairs, a low window in the top bedroom and the fast-flowing brook running through the garden, the property does not accept children under the age of 8, though babes-in-arms are accepted.
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
