Railway Cottage is a characterful home which sleeps six guests, in three spacious bedrooms, with a contemporary family bathroom. The stylish open plan kitchen/dining room overlooks the pretty garden, itself home to a summerhouse which has been converted into an office for home working. This beautiful dog friendly home has been lovingly styled and features charming character including exposed beams, exposed stone walls and a cosy wood burner in the living room.

The Finer Details

  • Bed linen and towels are provided
  • Free on street parking is available in a lay-by outside the cottage
  • Travel cots and highchairs are not provided, so guests will need to bring these with them

  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted, though other same sex groups can enquire
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Railway Cottage is situated in the market town of Lechlade-on-Thames, a vibrant town home to a number of pubs, restaurants and tearooms. With the River Thames on its doorstep, you can pick up the Thames Path to enjoy a scenic walk, or perhaps rent a boat or canoe and enjoy the countryside from the water itself.
For your shopping essentials, there are supermarkets and smaller retailers in Lechlade-on-Thames.
Lechlade-on-Thames is perfectly placed for exploring the many picturesque towns and villages of the Cotswolds such as Cirencester, Burford, Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water.

As 3 ladies who walk together regularly we wanted a comfortable base to walk some of the Thames path. The cottage fitted the bill perfectly. It was centrally located within easy walking distance to pubs and shops. The kitchen was very well equipped with a huge range cooker. The lounge was cosy and warm, and the bedrooms had very inviting plump duvets and pillows! The cottage had the feel of a real home from home not a rental property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it .

The cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The location was good as it is near most local attractions.

A family holiday with 5 adults and 2 pooches. The cottage felt a bit more like staying in someone’s house rather than a holiday home. There were lots of pieces around the property that showed that someone is obviously a keen baker, cooks and likes plants. A bonus as a family were the three double bedrooms with immaculate bedding, the large dining table in the kitchen and the enclosed garden. An extra bonus would be to have a mirror in each bedroom by an electric socket. The property is based on a very busy main road and the traffic noise was noticeable while sleeping in the two front bedrooms. The cottage is located in a central point to be able to travel to neighbouring villages and a walk along the river.
