Situated in the vibrant town of Lechlade and only a stone's throw from the excellent local pubs and restaurants, this superb, beautifully dressed Cotswold property is simply perfect for a weekend away with friends and family. Fantastic country and river walks surround the small market town for you to explore at your leisure or venture further afield and find some of the hidden gems the Cotswolds has to offer. Easy to get to from London and with good access to Oxford, Cheltenham, and Bath, it is a perfect self-catering place for couples or friends to get spend time together.

Accessibility and Health and Safety

The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
 
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 1 day prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

The cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The location was good as it is near most local attractions.

A family holiday with 5 adults and 2 pooches. The cottage felt a bit more like staying in someone’s house rather than a holiday home. There were lots of pieces around the property that showed that someone is obviously a keen baker, cooks and likes plants. A bonus as a family were the three double bedrooms with immaculate bedding, the large dining table in the kitchen and the enclosed garden. An extra bonus would be to have a mirror in each bedroom by an electric socket. The property is based on a very busy main road and the traffic noise was noticeable while sleeping in the two front bedrooms. The cottage is located in a central point to be able to travel to neighbouring villages and a walk along the river.

Railway Cottage is a family home perfect for those that like to feel a sense of home from home, the owner does enjoy baking and hopes those that stay in the property will enjoy whiling away the hours in the pursuit of the perfect loaf of bread! The location, whilst very central, does allow for easy access to all the wonderful surrounding delights of the Cotswolds. We hope to see you again soon!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage with our children and my parents. The location was great for being able to walk into Lechlade and pick up some delicious food from the deli and sourdough bakery. It was good to have the big kitchen to all spend time together. The children enjoyed playing out in the beautiful well-kept garden.
