River Cottage is a dog friendly holiday home, suitable for one medium sized dog, and is a mere ten minute walk from Winchcombe, home to an array of local shops and eateries for you to enjoy.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

River Cottage is located on the outskirts of historical Winchcombe; just a ten minute walk will take you into the bustling market town with its array of independent shops, local deli, traditional retailers, boutique clothing, interiors and antique emporiums. There is even a Michelin recommended restaurant named Restaurant 5 North Street. The Lion Inn is situated within a few minutes' walk of the property, offering a range of lovely seasonal fare - their Sunday lunch is particularly popular!
For your shopping essentials, there is a deli, Co-op and Morrisons in Winchcombe, and a Tesco Superstore can be found further afield in Cheltenham.
Just a short drive away are the much-loved towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden, as well as the picturesque villages of Broadway, Lower Slaughter and Blockley... discover a wealth of things to do in the Cotswolds over on our handy guide!

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants (aged 2 or under)
  • Bed linen and towels are provided (duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic)
  • Off street parking is available for up to 2 cars
  • Travel cots and highchairs are not provided, so guests will need to bring these with them

  • River Cottage has a lovely garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that loud music is not played outside after 21:00
  • Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
