At the rear of the property there is a tranquil courtyard garden with comfortable seating and a charcoal barbecue, a tranquil spot to relax and unwind during the summer months. Shakespeare Cottage is a dog friendly holiday home, suitable for one small-medium sized, well behaved dog!

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Shakespeare Cottage is located close to the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, a bustling market town steeped in character and history. Guests have a selection of well-regarded country pubs, eateries, tea rooms and boutique shops just moments from the doorstep! Why not enjoy an evening at The One Elm, Vintner's or Loxley’s restaurant and wine bar. For lunch or a coffee we suggest The Boston Tea Party or York's.
Catch a play at one of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s three theatres the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Swan Theatre, which both share a building on Waterside, and The Other Place, which is a short walk away on Southern Lane. Best to book in advance.
For your shopping essentials, there are a variety of superstores located in Stratford-upon-Avon including Marks & Spencers, Tescos, Morrisons and Waitrose.
Stratford-upon-Avon is ideally situated in the Warwickshire, north of the Cotswolds, perfect for exploring things to do in Stratford-upon-Avon and other nearby towns and villages such as Warwick, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway.

  • Bed linen and towels are provided (duvets and pillows are feathered)
  • Parking permit for 1 car is available at the property for nearby on-street parking. If required, there are a number of Pay & Display car parks close by, and free on-street parking can be found a short walk away
  • 1 travel cot, 1 highchair and 2 stair gates are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided) 
  • 2 x stair gates are provided to be only be used on Bedroom 2 door, and the other at the bottom of the stairs
  • 1 small-medium sized dog is welcome for an additional £40 per booking. For pet rules, please visit our FAQs

  • Please note that there is a small courtyard garden with artificial grass which is not suitable for dogs to relieve themselves on. However, there are a number of paths outside the property, along with a canal walk less than 3 minutes walk from the property and a park, Bancroft Gardens approx. 10 minutes walk away
  • The stairs are a little steep at the top and there are no window locks on the upstairs windows, this therefore may not be suitable for people with mobility issues and children should be supervised at all times
  • No candles or tea lights permitted
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted, though other same sex groups can enquire 
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • Please note that the only room suitable for the travel cot is Bedroom 2
  • If the parking permit is accidentally taken home with you, please note charges may be deducted from your security deposit
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
