The rather grandly named Filkins and Broughton Poggsis actually just one village – but its an absolute beauty, and is only a couple of miles away from Lechlade. A must see for visitors is the design studio, mill shop, gallery, textile museum and coffee shop all housed in the splendid 18th century building that makes up Cotswold Woollen Weavers.
From your base in Filkins guests can explore the stunning Cotswold countryside, stopping in nearby Burford where you can explore the wonderful high street, stop for lunch in one of the many tea rooms and cafes before stopping off to admire the three-arched medieval bridge on the way out of town.

Just five minutes by car and you will find yourself at the family-friendly Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The gardens themselves, stretching across some 160 acres, feature a planted walled garden and a tropical house. Whilst animal lovers will be excited to spot penguins, lemurs, rhinos, giraffes and lions.
Langford is a small village just off the main Lechlade to Burford road, so ideally placed to explore. From your holiday cottage in Langford you will be surrounded by beautiful views of the Berkshire Downs. While you’re there it’s worth a quick visit to Langford church to look at the Saxon stone carving of the crucifixion, as well as otherfascinatingarchitectural features.

The Bell Inn at Langford is worth a visit with hearty pub grub and a very welcome open fire in their cosy bar. They also have a large pub garden with wonderful views.
