Questions Answered

We understand that being able to bring your dog along is often a key reason many dog owners choose a staycation. But what does it truly mean to be a dog friendly cottage? Here we outline a few simple guidelines to ensure you have all the information you need before you book your stay with us.

Yes, most of our owners charge ÂŁ40 per dog, however, some charge a bit less and some slightly more. You can find this information in the Finer Details of the property listing.

This fee is to cover additional cleaning of the holiday home so that it is dirt and dog hair free for the next guests.

Some of our properties are only suitable for small/medium breeds, so it may be that you get asked the size, breed and age of your dog if there are any concerns. We consider small dogs to be up to the size of a Cocker Spaniel, medium breeds would be the size of a Labrador and then large breeds would be bigger than a Labrador. If the owners have a breed size restriction on their property, this will be stated in the Finer Details of the property listing, so please do check.

Please notify us on booking if you are planning on bringing a pet.

If you are taking your pet to a pet friendly property, we ask you to please respect a few simple house rules. Keep your dog off the furniture, do not allow pets upstairs or in the bedrooms, and please don’t leave your pets unattended in the property or garden.

Before you leave, remove any pet hairs from carpets and please clean up any residual mess, including in the garden.

If there is evidence of misbehaviour by a pet, or a pet has stayed without us being notified, then please note that there will be additional charges.

If you require an enclosed outdoor space, this will normally be stated in the property description, however, this does not guarantee that pets cannot find a way out. Some garden walls may be low enough in height that pets may be able to jump or climb over them. We strongly recommend that pets are supervised in the garden at all times.

Yes, registered Guide and support dogs belonging to those with visual and hearing impairments are allowed in all our properties, even where the property description states that pets are not allowed. The pet fee still applies for these dogs, as this cost is to cover additional cleaning which is required.
