Unspoiled Kingham, a gorgeous village in the northern Cotswolds, features a picture-perfect village green, surrounded by elegant stone houses and thatched cottages… offering you beautiful places to stay in Kingham. Visitors to this secluded village looking for peace and quiet certainly won’t be disappointed as there is just a village shop, a church, and two pubs. However, the two pubs are certainly worth a visit as both the Kingham Plough, with its Michelin-starred chef Alyn Williams and the equally wonderful Wild Rabbit are two of our absolute favourites.

Families should most certainly make the trip to the Cotswold Farm Park in nearby Guiting Power. Run by Adam Henson (of ‘Countryfile’ fame), visitors can watch live milking and shearing, enjoy a wander through the woods – stopping only to build a den – before heading to the outdoor play area and bouncy pillows!
Make your way over to nearby Chipping Norton where between April and September, the local Lido is an absolute must visit. The pool itself is open to swimmers of all ages – adult only sessions are also available – and there is a steam room and observation deck for non-swimmers and spectators.
Slightly further afield a day trip to the Cotswolds Distillery is a slightly more grown-up affair. The first full-scale distillery in the Cotswolds, visitors can enjoy learning all about the production of their award-winning whisky and gin before settling down to a tasting and stopping off at the on-site shop.
Nearby you’ll find the famous Daylesford Organics farm, which is another great day out. Foodies can pre-book one of their incredible cookery school workshops, where you can learn how to create the most delicious meals with produce from their organic market garden. Or if you would rather just sample their local delights and leave the cooking to someone else, then choose from the Trough Café, The Old Spot Restaurant, or the Legbar.
Before you return to the comfort of your luxury holiday cottage, make sure to stock up with local organic delicacies at the Daylesford Farm Shop.
