Getting to the Cotswolds
The Cotswolds may be in the heart of the English countryside, but it is extremely easy to get to by car or public transport. The Cotswolds area is close to motorways making it easily accessible from London, the Midlands and the North. There are also mainline railway stations at Cam and Dursley, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Kemble (serving Cirencester), Charlbury, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stonehouse, Stroud and Ashchurch (for Tewkesbury). The Cotswolds By Car
The Cotswolds is easy to access from London via car and means that you can travel around the rolling Cotswold hills at your own pace once you arrive. The area is served by the M4, M5 and M40 – if you’re staying in a smaller village prepare to navigate quiet country lanes too! Most of our Cotswold cottages have parking spaces or parking nearby, but please do check your booking before starting your journey. The Cotswolds By Train
Are you wondering how to visit the Cotswolds without a car? The fastest way to get to the Cotswolds from London is by train! You can get from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh between 1.5 or two hours. The train has a scenic route, so you’ll get a lovely view of the countryside before arriving at your destination. You can also break up your journey and enjoy the sights of Oxford and a delicious lunch before hopping back on the train. Once you’ve arrived in the Cotswolds, you can hire a car, use the local bus services or join a Cotswold tour. Alternatively, stay in a Cotswold town such as Stow-on-the-Wold or Moreton-in-Marsh so that you can walk to local pubs and attractions.
