We recently spent a couple of hours enjoying one of the Oxford Official Walking Tours.

We chose one of the more popular Oxford walking tours around the Oxford University buildings and we were fascinated by all of the history and some of the quirky facts that we would never have known without our brilliantly knowledgeable guide, Matthew…..for example who knew that Antony Gormley had a man on top of a building watching us all! Or that William Morris’s wife Jane was the inspiration for Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion ….the original ‘My Fair Lady’ lived in the centre of Oxford. The history and heritage of Oxford is just brilliant to take in and the actual buildings are truly spectacular.

You will not be disappointed with Oxford Official Walking Tours, whether you’re a frequent Oxford visitor or just visiting for the first time. The tours are provided by Experience Oxfordshire, the official destination management organization for Oxfordshire.

Oxford’s main attractions are easily accessible from each other as it is a small city. So, taking a walking or cycling tour is, therefore, a great way of seeing everything.

From the very popular Oxford University walking tour, that we did, to Inspector Morse or CS Lewis and Tolkien. Or how about a ghoulish ghost tour! There are different tours to suit everyone and you can book a pre-scheduled time with others or you can have your own private group.

Browse and discover all of our holiday cottages in Oxfordshire online.

And, if you’re staying with us you will receive 10% off your tour!
