Overview

Lammas Cottage is a beautifully appointed, Cotswold stone holiday home, which sleeps six guests, in three well presented bedrooms, with a family bathroom. This charming property is one of a row of traditional cottages in the idyllic village of Blockley, and boasts a secluded garden at the rear, with stunning countryside views. Dating back to the 1860s, Lammas Cottage was originally built to house the weavers who worked in the many local silk mills, the cottage has been lovingly refurbished by its owner and is bursting with character throughout including exposed Cotswold stone walls, oak beams, stone mullion windows and a cosy wood burning stove. Lammas Cottage is the perfect base to explore the many wonderful Cotswold towns and villages.

Lower Ground Floor

Spacious room with a Cotswold stone wall, exposed oak beams, flagstone floor and a lovely wood burning stove. Amenities include an electric oven, induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, wooden dining table with seating for six, two-seater sofa and a window seat

Dual aspect room with stone mullion windows, wooden floors, beautiful ornamental fireplace, windows seats, two two-seater sofas, armchair and a Smart TV with Netflix (account holders only) and a DVD player

Outside
Enclosed rear garden with beautiful views across the Blockley valley. Mostly laid to lawn with two small patio areas at either end and garden flower beds with a variety of scented flowers, herbs and an apple tree. This tranquil space contains a garden table with seating for six and a charcoal barbecue is provided between April-September.
There is an outbuilding in the garden, which contains a freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

  • The property is laid out over four floors and has narrow and steep stairs, and small bedrooms
  • Guests should be aware that there is a sloping path from the street to the back garden, which can get slippery when wet
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted, though other same sex groups can enquire 
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Lammas Cottage is a beautiful family friendly Cotswold holiday home located in Blockley, a characterful village steeped in history, which boasts two country pubs and a community owned village shop & café. Why not enjoy a seasonal meal or beverage at either The Great Weston Arms or Crown Hotel Blockley. For breakfast or a coffee we suggest Blockley Cafe.
For shopping essentials, there is the Blockley village shop, alternatively there is a local co-op in the neighbouring market town of Moreton-in-Marsh.
Blockley is ideally situated in the North Cotswolds, perfect for exploring the stunning Cotswold countryside and nearby towns and villages such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Camden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway.
