Oak Barn is an elegantly presented holiday home which sleeps 10 guests, in five sumptuous bedrooms, with four well-appointed bathrooms. This fabulous property combines quirky original features with the best of modern open plan living, with a spacious kitchen/dining and sitting room providing a fantastic space for entertaining. Finished to a high standard, this pet-friendly home away from home has a small snooker table, reading nook and an outdoor hot tub with stunning views of the grounds, the ideal spot for long summer nights. With a multitude of facilities both inside and outside the barn, this is a fantastic bolthole to share with friends, family or even colleagues!

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Oak Barn is located on the outskirts of picturesque Great Tew, an unspoilt village benefitting from a popular local country pub, The Falkland Arms. There are many footpaths throughout the local area, one of our favourites being the Little Tew circular walk which conveniently passes renowned cafe Quince and Clover- the perfect mid-walk pit stop!

The area is also spoilt for choice with an array of well-known eateries including The Royal Oak at Ramsden, The Wild Rabbit at Kingham and the Boxing Hare at Swerford. All of these destination country gastropubs and inns are situated a short drive from the barns. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion, or just treat your party, then we recommend using the Cotswold Guy, a private chef who can cook up a storm in the barn's kitchen whilst you relax.

For your shopping essentials, there is a Marks and Spencers Foodhall, Co-op and Sainbsurys superstore in Chipping Norton. Also, in the nearby town of Deddington is Eagles Fine Foods, an independent deli and butchers.
Great Tew sits in the heart of the North Cotswolds and is perfectly placed for visiting the much-loved towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton and Oxford. Also within a short drive are the renowned Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford Organic and Diddly Squat farm shop.

  • Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor
  • Eco-conscious, sustainable Windhager wood-chip fired boiler 
  • Miniature White Company toiletries provided in each bathroom
  • Please be aware that there are steps throughout the properties and the staircases are tight in places
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 10 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 3 additional infants
  • Hen, Stag and other same sex groups may enquire
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • Oak Barn has lovely garden communal gardens in addition to the private patio, guests are encouraged to enjoy these and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £400 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
