Overview

Stonewell Farmhouse is a beautifully renovated luxury Cotswold holiday home which sleeps 16 guests in eight welcoming bedrooms, six en-suites and two generously sized family bathrooms. On the ground floor, a well-equipped country kitchen occupies the heart of the house, leading off to a spacious dining room. The comfortable living room offers stunning countryside views from the ample seating for guests to enjoy whilst nestled in front of the wood burning stove. Tew Farmhouse boasts an abundance of outside space including two furnished outdoor seating areas, a walled private courtyard with hot tub, and side-garden with built in barbecue leading on to the large communal paddock, plenty of room for all the family and up to three dogs. With multiple living spaces, high-quality fittings and unique features including the dining table transforming into a full sized snooker table, an air hockey table and cosy snug room, this house is made for entertaining guests of all ages with something for everyone!

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Stonewell Farmhouse is a dog friendly holiday cottage located on the outskirts of picturesque Great Tew, an unspoilt village benefitting from a popular local country pub, The Falkland Arms. There are many footpaths throughout the local area, one of our favourites being the Little Tew circular walk which conveniently passes renowned cafe Quince and Clover- the perfect mid-walk pit stop!

The area is also spoilt for choice with an array of well-known eateries including The Royal Oak at Ramsden, The Wild Rabbit at Kingham and the Boxing Hare at Swerford. All of these destination country gastropubs and inns are situated just a short drive from the barns. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion, or just treat your party, then we recommend using the Cotswold Guy, a private chef who can cook up a storm in the barn's kitchen whilst you relax.

For your shopping essentials, there is a Marks and Spencers Foodhall, Co-op and Sainbsurys superstore in Chipping Norton. Also, in the nearby town of Deddington is Eagles Fine Foods, an independent deli and butchers.
Great Tew sits in the heart of the North Cotswolds and is perfectly placed for visiting the much-loved towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton and Oxford. Also within a short drive are the renowned Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford Organic and Diddly Squat farm shop.

  • The original stone steps leading into the children's games room in the basement are uneven and steep, the room also has a low beam and restricted head room. A permanent stair gate has been fitted so access to this room can be restricted
  • The dining/snooker room has an open water well in the floor which is covered with mesh and iron grated. Children and pets should be supervised in this room at all times
  • Please keep drinks, food & any other items likely to soil the snooker table baize away from the table. Any marks left following your stay will endeavour to be treated, however any professional cleaning fees or baize replacement will be taken from the security deposit
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 16 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 4 additional infants 
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • Stonewell Farmhouse has a lovely garden and communal paddock for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours
  • The garden is regularly maintained by a professional gardening service and although this work is generally carried out when the property is vacant, the gardener may need to carry out work whilst the property is occupied. If you require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £800 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
