The Angel at Burford is a family and dog-friendly award-winning gastro pub, located in the medieval town of Burford in the Cotswolds. Situated just off the High Street, it is bursting with Cotswold charm and has been run by the King family since 2011.
The interior is warm and welcoming, with a wood burner, with Cotswold stone walls and wooden beams adding to the cosy atmosphere. The traditional bar was totally refurbished in 2017, and has a rare Burr Elm counter, dating from the seventies. The bar shelving and facia is constructed from timbers reclaimed from the Hook Norton Brewery and are over 100 years old.
As well as the historic interior, the Angel boasts a beautiful, secluded walled garden and sun terrace at the back, perfect for those lazy summer afternoons, and a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the town.
There is a great selection of drinks on offer, with 4 real ales on draught, as well as Lager, Pale Ale, Cider and Stout Offerings. The Angel is also the proud holder of the Cask Marque award. The wine list is personally sourced and includes a great selection from around the world as well as a selection of amazing spirits and soft drinks available, so there is something for everyone.
The Angel prides itself on creating mouth-watering, high-quality dishes, all produced with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and all cooked by a talented team of chefs. Incorporating traditional classics with fresh fish and daily specials offering seasonal creations, The Angel is the only pub in the town that serves food all day!
Proud winners of ‘Cotswold Pub of The Year’ in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Angel also won Hook Norton Brewery’s prestigious ‘Food Pub Of The Year’ on more than one occasion and has received an AA Rosette for the last 8 years, making The Angel a must-visit pub in Burford on your trip to the Cotswolds.
