The Fox at Barrington is a beautiful Cotswold pub, located right on the banks of the River Windrush in the picturesque village of Great Barrington, just 2 miles from the town of Burford. The King family took over the location in early 2022 and have lovingly renovated it throughout, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who visit.
The Fox prides itself on offering outstanding food, drink, and service, as well as a second-to-none location in one of the most stunning and picture-perfect areas in the UK.
The bar area is welcoming, with original features, roaring log burners, and traditional Cotswolds stone floors, making it the perfect setting for catching up with friends or enjoying a solitary moment with a newspaper. There is always a selection of Real Ales at the bar, as well as craft beer, stout, and lager; Landlord Terence has held the Cask Marque for the last ten years, taking huge pride in the quality of beer offered.
The wine list has been personally selected by Terence, with a nod to his South African roots, and a combination of tradition and new, exciting grapes and blends. The Fox is also proud to serve local gin from the Cotswold Distillery, with fresh juices and quality tonics available to enhance your tipple of choice. If you fancy something a bit special, why not treat yourself to a specialty Espresso Martini or Bloody Mary!
Executive Head Chef Mike Burkert heads up a team of talented chefs to produce seasonal menus which make the most of the fantastic local produce found in The Cotswolds. There is a wonderful mix of pub classics and more adventurous dishes, as well as a delicious bar snack menu for those who want to enjoy something lighter.
With the option of dining in the newly refurbished restaurant or al fresco in the beautiful garden overlooking the river, a trip to the Fox will leave you feeling very at home here in The Cotswolds.
