Dovecote Cottage is the end terrace with an unfenced garden and outdoor seating, ideal for alfresco dining. This dog friendly Cotswold holiday cottage also accepts two dogs to join the adventure!

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Southrop is a quaint Cotswold village situated on the River Leach. This picturesque village benefits from many of quintessential Cotswold charms including a green, beautiful Grade I Listed Norman church, St Peter's, and an award winning gastropub, The Swan. Find out more about Cotswold food and drink over on our guide. The village is also home to the renowned Thyme hotel on the converted Southrop Manor estate. This swanky venue is a must for any visitors to the area, whether enjoying a meal in the fine dining restaurant, relaxing in the spa or learning a new dish at the cookery school, there are so many aspects for everyone to enjoy.
Guests are spoilt for choice when looking for days out, with the much loved market towns of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold within a 40 minute drive. From the charming village of Bibury, with the famous Arlington Row, to the larger cities of Cirencester, Oxford and Cheltenham, there is so much to explore - take a look at all the places to stay in the Cotswolds for more inspiration. There is no need to always jump in the car either with a rich array of footpaths leading directly from Southrop.
For your shopping essentials, many larger supermarkets will deliver to the area. There is also a Co-op in nearby Lechlade-on-Thames in addition to many local shops.

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)

  • The rear garden consists of a lawn, three patios and three outdoor tables which are shared with the neighbouring holiday cottages. The rear garden is unenclosed with direct access to the parking area and road so dogs need to be on a lead at all times and children should be supervised when outside. 
  • Due to the open nature and shared rear garden, dogs need to be on a lead at all times and are not permitted to toilet in the gardens so must be taken off the premise to be exercised
  • Please note that the age and design of the property there are steep steps and some spaces with low head room and minimal hand rails 
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

  • Dovecote Cottage has a lovely shared garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that loud music is not played outside
  • Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £500 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
