This cosy abode is a prime example of country family living, with rustic touches from the original oak beams to the earthy colour palette throughout, to the fabulous use of the living spaces such as the well-equipped kitchen, cosy sitting room with log burner, and the plush snug. Located in the picturesque village of Southrop, there are plenty of walks for you and your four-legged friend to explore.

Should you wish to increase the size of your party, Grey's Cottage is part of a larger estate with multiple accommodation options, including Stable Cottage, Yew Tree Cottage, Owl Cottage and Dovecote Cottage.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Grey's Cottage is one of five luxury self-catering holiday cottages on the owner's estate in the Cotswold village of Southrop. This quiet village has much to offer, with The Swan, a popular country pub just around the corner, and Thyme, a hotel with a restaurant and spa. It is also a great location for visiting places such as The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Daylesford Organic and various National Trust sites. Whilst in the area, it is well-worth visiting The Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach, The Wild Rabbit in Kingham and The Old Butchers in Stow-on-the-Wold.
For your shopping essentials, there is a Co-op and independent retailers in Lechlade-on-Thames (many larger supermarkets will deliver to the area too).
Immerse yourself in Cotswold life and take a trip to the nearby honeypots of Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway, as well as visiting the beautiful city of Oxford or pop along to the races at Cheltenham, only a 40 minute drive away.

The Finer Details

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)

  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

  • Grey's Cottage has a lovely communal garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours past 10pm and that loud music is not played outside
  • Please note dogs cannot be exercised or go to the toilet on the lawn (please take them off site to do so)
  • Please note there are 3 separate outdoor seating areas that are not allocated to a specific property and are communal 
  • Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £500 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
