Originally built in the early 19th century, Heath Cottage is an elegantly presented, grade II listed holiday home which sleeps six guests, in three well appointed bedrooms, with a family bathroom. On the ground floor and at the heart of the cottage is a warm and inviting sitting room, which boasts plenty of comfortable seating and a large inglenook fireplace with a cosy wood burning stove, perfect for those wintry evenings in. This spacious Cotswold stone cottage beautifully combines traditional character with contemporary style, with original oak beams, stunning exposed Cotswold stone and flagstone flooring. Finished in a warm, contemporary style, this wonderful property has a tranquil courtyard garden, which bathes in the late afternoon sun, making this a great spot for enjoying home cooked meals in the summer sunshine. Ground Floor

A beautifully presented, dual aspect room with flagstone flooring, oak beams, large inglenook fireplace with exposed Cotswold stone and a cosy wood burning stove, large corner sofa, which comfortably seats four, large footstool, stylish window seat and a Smart TV

Dining room
Full of character and charm, with an ornamental inglenook fireplace, original exposed oak beams, large dining table with seating for six, plus a fridge/freezer

Kitchen
Well-equipped and ideal for home cooking, the kitchen contains an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, cafetiere and toaster. A door from the kitchen leads out to the peaceful courtyard garden

First Floor

Master bedroom (Sleeps 2)
Elegantly furnished, with a king size sleigh bed, built-in wardrobe, hair dryer and a dressing table with a mirror

  • Bed linen and towels are provided
  • Off street parking is available for up to 1 car
  • 1 travel cot is available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided). The master bedroom, on the first floor, is the most suitable for a cot, however please note that it is not a particularly large room
  • Highchairs are not provided, so guests will need to bring these with them
  • 1 medium sized dog is welcome for an additional £40 per booking per dog. For pet rules, please visit our FAQs

  • Starter supply of wood provided for the wood burning stove from October to April only
  • This property is laid out over three floors and guests with young children should note that the property has steep staircases, particularly up to the second floor, and the front door opens directly onto the road outside. There are also low beams on the stairs up to the second floor, which could make it difficult to carry an infant up the stairs. Consequently, guests with young children and infants should carefully assess if the property is suitable for them 
  • Please note Heath Cottage is located on Wraggs Row, a small lane that runs parallel to the A429 (Fosse Way), just off Back Walls
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Heath Cottage is located close to the heart of the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, a beautiful town steeped in character and history. The town benefits from having a variety of well-regarded country inns, eateries and boutique shops just moments from the doorstep! Why not enjoy a delicious meal at The Old Butchers, The Old Stocks Inn or Alexiou's restaurant & bar. For hearty breakfast we suggest The Hive, or a coffee from Coach House Coffee.
For your shopping essentials, there is a mini Co-op in The Square, less than a minutes' walk away, or a Tesco Superstore located on the Fosse Way, less than one mile away.
Stow-on-the-Wold is ideally situated in the North Cotswolds, perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside and nearby towns and villages such as Burford, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway.
