Nursery House is a lovingly converted farm building, sleeping six guests in three bedrooms with a family bathroom and en-suite. The original cart shed is now a stunning sitting room with a vaulted ceiling and wood burner. Benefitting from a private enclosed garden it is the perfect oasis to while away summer evenings. This peaceful dog-friendly property is ideal for one well-behaved dog.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Nursery House is located in the peaceful village of Broadwell, with a wonderful local pub, The Fox, within walking distance. A fantastic location for exploring the Cotswolds, with the renowned Daylesford Organic just a short drive away, Batsford Arboretum is a must, and we highly recommend a day out at Blenheim Palace.
For your shopping essentials, there is a Tesco on the outskirts of Stow, just five minutes from the cottage.
Broadwell is situated just between Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh, with other Cotswold towns such as Chipping Campden and Burford a short drive away.

The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infant (aged 2 or under)

1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided)

The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

The cottage is in a lovely location with easy access to local towns etc, the Fox Inn is lovely with good food and beer. The cottage was clean with a few cobwebs but this should be expected. Main complaint, the shower in the on-suite is past its best, temp control is difficult and you have to run around to get wet under the cheap shower head. The main bathroom shower is better, but doesn't seem to stay hot for very long, one to two minutes at best, it also (as we discovered) leaks into the carport below, via the carport light. No welcome pack or instructions for the heating or information on where the 3rd parking space is as access/egress from the carport is tight. On the whole, a lovely cottage with a nice secluded garden, but the showers really let it down.

We are disappointed to learn that you did not contact the property manager during your stay to raise any of the concerns about the showers. As part of the booking conditions, we do ask that guests report any issues during their stay in order to try and give the owner or their property manager a fair opportunity to rectify any issues. Positives Gorgeous building and garden in beautiful location. Negatives The property was very tired. The sofas were very old and uncomfortable and the property was cold in the evening and whilst there is heating we couldn't find any instructions on how to use it. The property inside was very grubby, dusty, dirty carpets, cobwebs and the throws on the beds were dirty. Wet washing left in the washing machine on our arrival. I would say there is parking for two cars, not three and watch your boot if you open it as ours hit the top of the garage. One of the bathrooms Leaks into the garage every time you shower through an electric light so didn't use this when returning at night as we deemed it to dangerous. We had to tread a plant down to get into the garage as it was so over grown. I emailed Richard before we came but never got a response and never saw him whilst we were there. We did see the cleaner when she came to collect the wet washing but that was it. We have stayed in many properties in the area and have always received a small welcome pack and small complimentary toiletries and at over £1k for 4 nights a small welcome pack would have been nice. Such a shame as it could be a really wow property if a bit of money was spent on it. Sadly we won't be returning.

Welcome packs are the choice of the property owner and many owners have found that there is a considerable waste of items. This is a self-catering property and the basic starter essentials are provided. Complimentary toiletries are again at the decision of the owner and it has been found that these can also be wasted and products may not be suitable for every guest. We hope you will be back to stay in the Cotswolds soon.

Nursery House is a lovely property from which to explore the many different places of interest which are within 40mins drive. Broadwell felt very central for the activities we enjoyed in Stow, Moreton-In-Marsh and Burford. It was great to be within easy walking distance of The Fox pub which was really welcoming and served great food. Richard was quick to respond when we needed to get in touch. Nursery House was very comfortable both inside and out and we have no hesitation in recommending this property.
