Cosy yet stylish Cotswold holiday cottage with wonderful countryside views

Blockley is the most beautiful village and has plenty of nooks and crannies to explore close to Rosewood Cottage. The house is perfect as a base with everything we needed for the week. The great weather helped although the house was cool in the evening. Everything was clean, directions and instructions were perfect and there was not one thing we could complain about.

Rosewood Cottage is a cosy, beautifully decorated two-bed cottage in the idyllic village of Blockley in The Cotwolds. I had stayed in a different cottage in the village on a previous occasion but the combination of the cosy decor, good facilities and reasonable price for the stay convinced me to use StayCotswold and I am definitely pleased that I did. The communication once booked was good with easy to understand instructions and directions closer to the date of staying meaning I hadn't the need to contact StayCotswold, though I found their website to be useful and a welcome book in the cottage had all the information i required, including useful advice for walks and places to eat. Even though it was the evening when I arrived at Rosewood Cottage, it was easy to access the property due to the simple instructions and on entering I was impressed by the open plan ground floor which contained a kitchen, lounge and dining table. On walking up the stairs, which are a bit steep and may be difficult to navigate for some but the sturdy bannisters certainly made life easier, I discovered two cosy bedrooms both of a good size and with comfortable double beds and rails to hang your clothes. The only negative I would mention regarding the bedrooms was there wasn't a huge area to store your clothes in either bedroom with no chests of drawers that I could find so I made use of the ample furnishings to lay the rest of my clothing out until I required them. Both bathrooms, one on the first and one on the second floor where the master bedroom is situated had everything required for your stay with a bath in the first floor bathroom and a nice, reasonably large shower unit with ample water pressure on the second floor with both bathrooms also having a sink and toilet. The kitchen on the ground floor has plenty of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery to accommodate those looking to cook their own meals and although I only ate breakfast at the cottage and dined out at night there is a fridge and dishwasher for those looking to make more use of the kitchen than me, with all white goods of a good quality and durability. One thing I would mention that could improve the dining experience would be if a small amount of milk, sugar, tea and coffee were provided though I came prepared as I had done a shop for essentials prior to my stay, and it should be noted that there is a coffee pod machine. All in all, I had a lovely stay in this beautiful and well-maintained cottage so massive thanks to StayCotwold for the accommodation. For me it was in a perfect location with parking often available right outside the front door but there also being plenty available in the Village Hall car park almost directly opposite. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a stay near Broadway and as a base to explore the further Cotwolds, especially for two couples or single companions due to the two double bedrooms on different floors with enough privacy between floors for them to have their own space if required.
