Stable Cottage is a stunning and spectacular Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps six guests, in three boutique-style bedrooms, with an ensuite and family bathroom. What was originally a stable block is now a tasteful, relaxing family home spread over three floors. Each space is thoughtfully decorated to create a harmonious interior with an earthy colour palette and countryside-themed highlights throughout that complement the original features, making it a warm and welcoming space. The living area is cosy and snug with its log burner and the well-equipped, stylish kitchen leads out to the shared garden area, with a fabulous terrace to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining in the summer months. Set in the picturesque village of Southrop with plenty of local walks, it is the ideal location to stay with your four-legged friend, as Stable Cottage also welcomes two dogs!

Should you wish to increase the size of your party, Stable Cottage is part of a larger estate with multiple accommodation options, including Yew Tree Cottage, Grey's Cottage, Owl Cottage and Dovecote Cottage.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Stable Cottage is located in a terrace of holiday homes, which were all originally a stable block to the owner's fabulous estate in the pretty village of Southrop. Within walking distance, guests will find the incredible Thyme, with exceptional food at The Ox Barn, an amazing cookery school on site, and a renowned spa, making it an invaluable asset to the village. For the foodies in the group who don't mind travelling a little further afield, we would recommend visiting The Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach, The Wild Rabbit in Kingham and The Old Butchers in Stow-on-the-Wold. With so much on offer in the area for all ages, such as The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Burford Garden Company, Daylesford Organic and Kelmscott Manor, this makes this the ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds.
For your shopping essentials, there is a Co-op and independent retailers in Lechlade-on-Thames (many larger supermarkets will deliver to the area too).
Southrop sits in the Central Cotswolds and is perfectly placed for visiting the much-loved destinations of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, as well as the fabulous historic city of Oxford.

  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant 
  • Hen and Stag parties can enquire
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • Stable Cottage has a lovely communal garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours past 10pm and that loud music is not played outside
  • Please note dogs cannot be exercised or go to the toilet on the lawn (please take them off site to do so)
  • Please note there are 3 separate outdoor seating areas that are not allocated to a specific property and are communal 
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £500 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
