Star Cottage is a beautifully appointed, double-fronted Cotswold stone holiday home near Moreton-in-Marsh which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with two bathrooms. This charming property is one of a row of six traditional cottages on a quiet lane in the idyllic village of Little Compton, close to Moreton-in-Marsh, and boasts a secluded garden at the rear, as well as a stunning front garden. The cottage has been finished to a high standard with lovely features including a wood burner, exposed beams, flagstone flooring and an exposed Cotswold stone feature wall. Star Cottage is a dog friendly holiday home, suitable for two medium sized dogs.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Star Cottage is located in Little Compton, a peaceful village situated near the bustling market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, home to a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Just a five minute walk from the cottage sits The Red Lion, a popular country pub which serves delicious food and boasts a welcoming atmosphere, and being surrounded by wonderful scenery, there are many walks and cycle routes on the doorstep.
For your shopping essentials, both Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton have a number of supermarkets and independent retailers.
Little Compton is well-placed for visiting the picturesque Cotswold towns and villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water.

  • Starter supply of wood provided for the wood burning stove from October to April only
  • There is a slight slope from the road to the pavement outside the property which can become slippery when wet, however there are steps immediately outside the front gate which can be used to get from the pavement to the road
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
