At the front of the property there is a fabulous patio garden, with plenty of outdoor seating, creating the perfect spot for al fresco dining during the warmer months. The Byre is located in the heart of the idyllic village of Ampney St. Mary, and is perfectly situated to explore the Cotswolds with some of the famous Cotswold hot spots only a short drive away.

  • There is a flat walking path from the garden gate to the front door
  • Tallet steps from the master bedroom should be used as an emergency exit only
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 guests. Regrettably, the property does not accept infants and children under the age of 6 years
  • Hen and Stag parties are not permitted, though other same sex groups can enquire
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • The garden is regularly maintained by a professional gardening service and although this work is generally carried out when the property is vacant, the gardener may need to carry out work whilst the property is occupied. If you require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

The Byre is located in the rural village of Ampney St. Mary, a short drive from Cirencester. Locally, guests can enjoy a walk to St Mary's Church, or hop in the car (5 minute drive) to Barnsley House, a luxury country house and spa for a relaxing afternoon tea or treatment.
For your shopping essentials, there are a variety of superstores located just four miles away in the bustling market town of Cirencester, along with numerous gastropubs, tearooms and independent shops!
Ampney St. Mary sits in the heart of Central Cotswolds and is perfectly placed for visiting the much loved towns and villages of Bibury, Chedworth, Burford, Stroud, Tetbury, Nailsworth, Cheltenham and Gloucester, all of which are within a 30 minutes drive of the property. Further afield places, such as Bath, Blenheim Palace, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon are also easily accessible for day trips.
