Thimble Cottage is a beautifully refurbished, Grade II listed, Cotswold cottage which sleeps two guests (no children aged 17 or under permitted) in a well-appointed bedroom with vaulted ceilings and a freestanding bath. This 18th century home has a separate shower room and a thoughtfully designed open plan kitchen and sitting area with an electric flame effect fire, creating a cosy and welcoming space to relax. Outside, there is an attractive courtyard where guests can enjoy al fresco dining or a peaceful morning coffee. Thimble Cottage also welcomes one small dog, making it the perfect dog friendly countryside retreat for couples and their four-legged companion.

Thimble Cottage can be booked either on its own, or with The Coach House, South Cerney, which sleeps two guests. Located just a stone's throw apart, the two together offer an ideal setup for two couples or for friends travelling together.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Thimble Cottage is situated in South Cerney, a thriving Cotswold village set beside the beautiful lakes of the Cotswold Water Park. Offering the perfect blend of countryside charm and waterside adventure, the village boasts three welcoming country pubs, an Indian restaurant, a fish and chip shop, The Gateway Pizzeria and The Pennycress Café. For outdoor pursuits, South Cerney Golf Club is nearby and the Cotswold Water Park has sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and open water swimming, along with nature reserves and miles of footpaths and cycle routes.
For everyday essentials, there is a well-stocked Co-op in the village and larger supermarkets in Cirencester.
South Cerney is a wonderful base for exploring this much-loved National Landscape, ideal for fun packed dog friendly breaks, with historic Cirencester just a few miles away and the honeypots of Tetbury, Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water within easy reach.

Security Deposit/Accidental Damage Waiver

Bookings at this property require either a £150 Security Deposit or payment of a non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver. Where you choose a Security Deposit and we have your payment card details on file (for your security, these details are tokenised), we have the right to charge an amount up to the value of the Security Deposit to your payment card up to seven days after your departure date. In some circumstances, we may require a pre-authorisation of the Security Deposit amount against your payment card seven days prior to your arrival date, which will be released seven days after your departure date, providing no damage is reported or excessive cleaning is required. You may choose to waive the requirement for a Security Deposit by paying for an Accidental Damage Waiver at checkout. This is a non-refundable payment that covers the cost of any accidental damage or breakages to the property or its contents, up to the value of the Security Deposit. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
