Location Information

Yew Tree Cottage is located in the quant village of Lower Swell, with a great pub, The Golden Ball, and beautiful countryside walks. Only a short drive from the fabulous town of Stow-on-the-Wold with an abundance of restaurants, our particular favourites are The Old Butchers, The Porch House, and The Old Stocks. For a day out, there is the fabulous Broadway Tower, Cotswold Wildlife Park, and the wonderful Batsford Arboretum.
For your shopping essentials, there is a Co-op in Bourton-on-the-Water and a Tesco Superstore in Stow-on-the-Wold.
Lower Swell sits in the North Cotswolds, and it is perfectly located for visiting the local towns of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Moreton-in-Marsh. Not to mention, it is only a short drive from the beautiful villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter with their picturesque honey-coloured stone cottages.

  • The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure.
