The first half of 2026 has been a strong period for StayCotswold in the media spotlight, with over 40 pieces of coverage across regional, national and online titles, all shining a light on why the Cotswolds remains one of the UK’s most sought-after destinations.
From filming locations and golfing breaks to lidos and village life, here’s where we’ve been featured across the first six months of the year:
On Screen: Filming Locations Keeping Us in the Headlines
The Cotswolds’ popularity as a filming backdrop continued to generate strong coverage. The Version explored Bridgerton filming locations across the region, while later in the half the Rivals season 2 story gave us another opportunity to connect the show’s on-screen popularity with real places close to our properties.
Village Life and Lifestyle Appeal
We made a big splash in several regional titles by highlighting Country Living magazine’s round up of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds. This was picked up by Yahoo News, the Oxford Mail and the Cotswold Journal among others. Seen in the City also covered celebrity-style Cotswolds breaks, keeping the region firmly positioned as a lifestyle destination, while an original take on Liam Gallagher moving to the region and the activities he might take part in was a hit with the Manchester Evening News.

Golf and Active Breaks
Golfing holiday inspiration provided winning coverage across the first half. LoveLiveGolf highlighted the Cotswolds’ best courses, and Sustain Health followed with a dedicated piece on golfing holidays in the region, together positioning the Cotswolds as a destination for active breaks and leisurely countryside stays.
Dog-Friendly and Outdoor Appeal
Kinship covered dog-friendly weekends in the Cotswolds, reinforcing our reputation among pet owners planning a break. This was complemented in Q2 by Sustain Health’s round-up of the region’s best lidos and water attractions, which reached 60,000 readers and gave guests a refreshing reason to book a summer stay.
Sponsorship and Events
Our headline sponsorship of the Churchill Car Show generated coverage in the Banbury Guardian, Warwickshire World and the Cotswold Journal, strengthening our profile within the local community and in the regional press.
Interiors and Cottage Life
Cotswold Living ran a four-page feature on the renovation of Ardmore Cottage, by top local interior designer Sean Symington, giving readers a detailed look inside one of our properties and showcasing the quality behind our portfolio.
Trade and B2B Coverage
The wellness staycation booking boom landed strong media interest across the trade press, with pieces in Travel News Desk, Insider Media and The Business Desk. This B2B attention reflects wider industry focus on the staycation market and positioned StayCotswold as a source of insight for trade audiences.
Looking Ahead
With the second half of the year in full swing, we’re looking forward to building on this momentum, with further opportunities around the Cotswolds’ summer and autumn events calendar and continued interest in the region’s TV and film connections.
Thank you to all the journalists and editors who helped share the StayCotswold story so far this year!
