Holiday Headlines – Read Our Q2 Media Highlights

It’s been an exciting quarter for StayCotswold in the spotlight, with media features showcasing everything from iconic Cotswold filming locations to dog-friendly holiday escapes. Our Cotswold holiday homes have captured attention across the press, highlighting the region’s charm, heritage, and irresistible appeal for countryside getaways.

From Bridgerton to Four-Legged Friends: Our Media Moments

Cotswold locations captured the imagination of journalists in America, leading to a brilliant feature in US travel magazine ‘Late Checkout’, which showcased places to visit for Bridgerton fans. The piece highlighted our region’s stunning period architecture and the timeless English countryside that makes places like Blenheim Palace a must-see for period drama enthusiasts.

As a pet-friendly holiday property firm, we had to tell readers about our love of dogs. Companion Life and Pets Radar featured our dog-friendly expert advice, providing their readers with top tips on holidaying with pets. From tips on protecting your holiday home from muddy paws after a long walk in the country, to how we’ve even welcomed cats, horses and guinea pigs to stay with us, these features demonstrated just how welcoming the Cotswolds can be for the whole family – including four-legged members.

Expert Insights from Our Team

Two members of our team stepped into the spotlight this quarter, lending their expertise to national media outlets. Ellie shared insights with The Times on why Jane Austen fans adore the region and why the author is a hit with nostalgia seeking Gen Z readers.  Being close to Bath and home to filming locations and stately homes that inspired her novels, the Cotswolds is a must-see for literature fans.

Lovely Leona Sherlock, who looks after owner and guest services at StayCotswold, also provided practical advice on protecting your self-catering cottage when bringing your pet on holiday.  Her tips covered everything from pre-arrival preparation to post-stay cleaning, ensuring both pets and properties stay looking their best.

Clarkson’s Farm Feature

Our biggest media moment came courtesy of Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm. A huge feature on Clarkson’s Farm landed in The Sun and The Irish Sun in May, perfectly timed to coincide with the fourth series launch. This engaging article showed readers where to visit to get the most out of a Diddly Squat-inspired stay, from visiting Hawkstone Brewery for a behind-the-scenes tour to sampling the hearty menu at The Farmer’s Dog.

The feature captured the essence of what makes the Cotswolds so special – the perfect blend of working countryside, genuine hospitality, and unique British charm that Jeremy and his team has helped bring to a whole new audience.

Looking Ahead

With a packed events calendar in the Cotswolds from July to September, we can’t wait to spread the word about where to stay near show stopping events such as RIAT – the Royal International Air Tattoo – celebrating its 40th Year and The Big Feastival in Kingham held over August Bank Holiday, celebrating the best of food and music with this year’s headliners at Blur Bassist, Alex James’ farm including Nelly Furtado, Travis, Rizzle Kicks, Faithless and Sophie-Ellis Bextor.
