StayCotswold’s Trolley Dash for The North Cotswold Food Bank

December is the season of giving, and we put that sentiment into action this month by supporting our local community and donating essential supplies to the North Cotswold Food Bank via a trolley dash.

Three members of our team carried out a supermarket trolley dash at Tesco in Stow-on-the-Wold, gathering essential food and household items before delivering them to the food bank’s warehouse in Guiting Power.

Lilly from our owner services team did a great job of picking essential items from the shelves to fill the trolley before heading to the tills, ensuring we collected the items most needed by families in the area.

North Cotswold Food Bank has been providing vital support to local families since 2011, operating almost entirely through the dedication of volunteers. The food bank provides more than 1,700 emergency food parcels per year from its seven outlets in Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, Winchcombe, Chipping Campden and Bishops Cleeve in Cheltenham, helping over 4,000 people across the community – many of them working families struggling to make ends meet. The Food bank is part of the Trussell community, which provides more than 3 million food parcels per year across the UK.

Our team focused on collecting the items most needed by food bank clients, including toilet rolls, laundry products, tinned meat and fish, pasta sauces, cooking oil, and cleaning products.

Kevin Carden, Manager of North Cotswold Food Bank, highlighted the impact of donations like ours: “Thanks again to the StayCotswold team for a grand effort. It means a lot when local businesses go out of their way to support us,”

The food bank continues to provide essential support to those facing difficult circumstances, and we’re proud to play a small part in their important work.  We hope our involvement will encourage other local businesses to consider how they might support this vital charity and its dedicated volunteers.
