Appletree Cottage is a beautifully refurbished Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps five guests in three well-appointed bedrooms and two bathrooms. This 18th century hidden gem oozes with character to include exposed stone, original beams and a log burner. The quaint and cosy sitting/dining room offers a real home from home atmosphere, a lovely social space to relax and unwind. With access to the rear garden, the kitchen is a great space to enjoy cooking up your favourite meals. Boasting lots of outside space Appletree Cottage has a pretty lawn garden to the front and a Mediterranean style space to the rear, both for your enjoyment all year round.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Appletree Cottage is located in the pretty and popular village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as The Venice of the Cotswolds due to it's many bridges over the River Windrush which flows through the heart of the village. This popular, bustling village offers plenty to do and it's right on your doorstep with such favourites as Birdland, The Model Village, The Perfumery and The Motor Museum. There are many boutique style shops to stroll around and an array of places to eat, you will be spoilt for choice.
Close by, on the edge of the village, the ancient meadows and rivers of Greystones Farm Nature Reserve are home to a diverse range of wildlife, the perfect spot for an evening stroll.
For your shopping essentials, there is a large Co-op in the village, a Budgens in the High Street and a Tesco Superstore in Stow-on-the-Wold, a mere 4 miles away.
Bourton-on-the-Water is perfectly placed for visiting the much loved towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and Cheltenham, as well as the picture postcard villages of Broadway, Lower Slaughter and Blockley.

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 5 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)

  • Appletree Cottage has a lovely garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that loud music is not played outside after 21:00
  • Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. We reserve the right to charge an amount up to the value of the security deposit to your payment card up to 7 days after your departure date. In some circumstances, we may require a pre-authorisation of the security deposit amount against your payment card 7 days prior to your arrival date, which will be released 7 days after your departure date, providing no damage is reported or excessive cleaning is required. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
