On the ground floor of this dog friendly cottage, you have a stylish sitting room which leads into the well equipped kitchen/dining area with direct access to the peaceful garden, boasting plenty of outdoor seating, perfect for those warmer months. Dating back to the 18th century, the interior has a wealth of character features, including wooden beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and a stone fireplace with an electric flame effect stove, perfect for those cosy nights in!

Well maintained front patio garden, spilt over three tiers and home to two bistro tables with seating for four and a shed, shared with two neighbouring cottages, provides storage for two bicycles. Surrounded by mature shrubbery and striking clematis which covers the exterior of the cottage and blossoms in the warmer months. Please note that although the garden is private, right of access to the shared shed is permitted for neighbours.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Lavender Cottage is located in the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water, an unspoilt village which is often described as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the pretty River Windrush. This vibrant village has a variety of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops to enjoy.
For your shopping essentials, there is a Co-op in Bourton-on-the-Water and a Tesco Superstore in Stow-on-the-Wold.
Daylesford Organic Farm shop, Chastleton House, Blenheim Palace and Batsford Arboretum are all nearby, not to mention the much loved Cotswold towns and villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and Broadway, none of which should be missed!

The Finer Details

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is four guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by one additional infant (aged 2 or under)
  • Bed linen and towels are provided
  • Free on-street parking directly outside cottage gate & there is some limited street parking available in Bourton-on-the-Water, however guests may prefer to park in the main village car park (Pay & Display), a short walk away from the property
  • 1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided) 
  • 1 small dog (no larger than a Cocker Spaniel and no less than a year old) is welcome for an additional £40 per booking. For pet rules, please visit our FAQs

  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
