Overview

Rabbit at Burrow Away is a delightful Cotswold barn conversion which sleeps 2+1 guests (see Finer Details), with the +1 option being a single trundle bed suitable for a child under 14, with a shower room. Surrounded by farm scenery, escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy all the countryside has to offer; catching glimpses of hares along the drive and, in the spring, the delight of lambs frolicking in the fields – a true picturesque setting. The high ceilings and open plan living space create a serene environment to enjoy a home-cooked meal and relax on the sofa after a splendid day exploring the Cotswolds. Rabbit is a dog friendly holiday home that accepts one dog.

Rabbit can be booked either on its own, or with Fox which sleeps four guests in the adjacent property.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Rabbit at Burrow Away is situated on the owner's working farm, just a 20 minute walk from the fantastic town of Charlbury. Nestled in the Evenlode Valley, this bustling town has a popular country pub, The Bull, a deli, shop and a mainline train station with services to Oxford (20 minutes) and on to London Paddington (just over an hour).
For your shopping essentials, there is a Co-op in Charlbury and larger supermarkets and independent retailers in Chipping Norton.
Charlbury is well-placed for visiting the much-loved Cotswold honeypots of Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water, as well as the historic city of Oxford and its nearby attractions, including Blenheim Palace. The Finer Details

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 3 guests, though the number of adults per booking is capped at 2. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)
  • Bed linen and towels are provided
  • Off street parking is available for up to 1 car
  • Electric charging point available, payable to owner (shared with neighbouring property, Fox)
  • 1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided)

  • Rabbit is located in the grounds of a working farm and as such, there will be farm activities, vehicles and animals within the vicinity of the holiday let with their related noises. Please follow the marked tracks and be aware of machinery and livestock during your stay
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
  • Please note this is a working farm and dogs will need to be kept on the lead at all times as the garden is not enclosed. Dogs must also be up to date with worm and flea treatment due to the proximity of livestock. There is a footpath from the property that guests are welcome to use - we recommend bringing a dog towel
  • Please note there is CCTV located on the drive to the farm, however, there is no CCTV overlooking the property
  • The trundle bed is only suitable for a child under 14 years old
  • Rabbit is a self-contained property in the grounds where the owner lives
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
