Waterhead is a stunning barn conversion, located in a unique and rural spot, a two mile stroll from Stow-on-the-Wold and within easy reach of Oxford, Cheltenham, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and London. Careful attention has been paid to the original structure, with wooden beams left exposed throughout the interior, combined with a Farrow and Ball colour scheme and an abundance of contemporary finishes. The large family kitchen comes with an AGA, double electric oven, and single gas hob. The kitchen leads through to a huge open-plan living/dining/sitting area with two plasma TVs and a roaring Jetmaster open fire. Separate downstairs toilet.

There are six en-suite bedrooms (one is situated on the ground floor) all of which have the flexibility to be made into doubles or twins as required, making this holiday home perfect for large groups or family get together. Waterhead Barn comes with all mod cons including great Wi-Fi, Sky TV, Bluetooth speaker & water filtration system. This is a property not to be missed!

This property sleeps a total of 13 guests – 12 guests in 6 bedrooms and 1 person on the additional sofa bed.

All bedrooms have a Super King bed default, however can be made up as twin rooms on request with at least seven days' notice.

  • There is no coffee machine at this property, however there are 2 cafeterias
  • The property does not permit charging of electric cars. Charging points can be found locally
  • The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property
Things to Note...
  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 12+1 guests in 6 bedrooms and the +1 being accommodated on the additional sofa bed (maximum 1 adult) . Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants
  • Hen, Stag and other same sex groups are not permitted
  • Commercial and work related bookings are not permitted
  • Events are not permitted without prior consent
  • A security deposit is required at this property
  • Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 10:00
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £500.00 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Waterhead Barn is close to the famous Cotswold town of Stow-on-the-Wold with a Tescos supermarket, some great pubs, independent cafes and plenty of shopping. It is also well placed for exploring the idyllic villages of the Cotswolds, as well as attractions like Burford Garden centre and the Cotswold wildlife park to name but a few!

And for those wanting to visit the races at Cheltenham, the property is only half an hour away.


We all thought it would be an advantage having grab handles in the shower room especially the room on the ground floor as quite likely to be used by someone with mobility issues. We loved our stay here for our annual get together

We had three days and nights at the barn with 8 adults 2 teenagers and 3 toddlers. The barn offers lots a lounge space, large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, it has an enormous kitchen, and feels as if it has only recently been converted. The location is idyllic, off a very quiet narrow lane with super views over the surrounding countryside. Also the barn is within walking and cycling distance of Stowe on the Wold, where there are lots of shops and restaurants. We went on plenty of winter walks, and enjoyed getting back to a well heated barn. The price is expensive, and Stowe is expensive, but it is worth it to be in a such a wonderful environment, with Donningtons Brewery just down the road
