Held each year at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is one of the biggest international airshows in the UK. Spread over three days, in 2024 it will take place between the 19 and the 21 July.
The three day event has been running for over 50 years and raises funds for The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. With over 150,000 visitors expected over the three days, visitors will be treated to an incredible 18 hours of flying displays.
Wondering what happens at RIAT?
This is so much more than a festival in the sky! Visitors will be able to get up close and personal with an immense collection of aircraft from across the eras. From the Techno Zone where you can get interactive with innovative technology, to the RAF Experience featuring 27 separate installations and over 200 RAF personnel to meet, there is something for every aviation enthusiast.
More than just aircraft…
And if you’re looking for a little respite from all things aircraft related then The Village Green is where you can enjoy a spot of music, take in the retro shopping experience and run off some energy with the children on the fairground rides.
RIAT is also packed with delicious food and drink options, with street food stalls, several bars and a refreshment zone you can choose between Greek food, a hog roast, gourmet burgers and German sausage to name a few. Follow the savoury selection with an ice cream and wash it down with a refreshing drink or a warming coffee.
