Overview

The Gatehouse is a beautifully refurbished Cotswold holiday home which sleeps two guests (no children aged 17 or under permitted except for one infant aged two or under), in one well-appointed bedroom, with one spacious bathroom. Set over three floors, this unique property offers rustic charm to include original flagstone flooring, stone stairways and cast iron windows, yet still encompasses all of the modern touches. On the ground floor the kitchen/dining room is fully equipped to cater for all your culinary needs, whilst the sitting room offers a cosy retreat with comfy seating and an open fire. The garden has a pretty lawn area with outdoor seating, a space to enjoy all year round.

The Gatehouse can be booked either on its own or with The Lodge which sleeps four guests. Located in the same estate grounds, the two together offer an ideal setup for two families, or for friends travelling together.

Accommodation
This one bedroom holiday home near Bisley is perfect for romantic retreats in the countryside. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

The Gatehouse is nestled on the edge of Lypiatt Park, formerly part of the larger estate which was once famously owned by the former Lord Mayor of London, Dick Whittington. The popular village of Bisley is only two miles away, recently voted as the third best place to live in England. When considering eating out, why not try The Woolpack Inn, Slad, which is only a 30 minute walk across the valley or a 10-15 minute drive away.
For your shopping essentials, there is a farm shop on the outskirts of Bisley and the Farmers' Market and larger supermarkets in Stroud.
The South Cotswolds is home to many charming market towns and villages including Minchinhampton and Painswick, as well as the popular Gatcombe Park, home of the Gatcombe horse trials. The larger destinations of Bath and Cheltenham are also accessible, ideal for day trips.

  • The maximum occupancy for this property is 2 adults. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)

  • Please note the main Bisley Road runs directly alongside the property
  • The Gatehouse has a lovely garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that loud music is not played outside after 21:00
  • Giffords Circus is located in Fennells Farm, opposite The Gatehouse, and is open to the public on various dates throughout the year
  • Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted
Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. We reserve the right to charge an amount up to the value of the security deposit to your payment card up to 7 days after your departure date. In some circumstances, we may require a pre-authorisation of the security deposit amount against your payment card 7 days prior to your arrival date, which will be released 7 days after your departure date, providing no damage is reported or excessive cleaning is required. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
