StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Flat 1 Martins House is located in Stow-on-the-Wold, a picturesque market town set high in the Cotswolds and known for its historic square, antique shops and honey-coloured stone buildings. The town offers a delightful mix of independent boutiques, art galleries and excellent eateries, from charming tearooms to renowned spots like The Old Butchers and The Porch House. Scenic footpaths lead to beautiful villages such as Lower Slaughter and Bourton-on-the-Water, while attractions like the Cotswold Farm Park and the gardens at Hidcote and Kiftsgate are within easy reach.

For your shopping essentials, there is a mini Co-op in The Square or a Tesco Superstore located on the Fosse Way.
Stow-on-the-Wold is ideally situated for exploring the honeypots of Chipping Campden, Broadway and Burford.

The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants (aged 2 or under)

Things to Note...

Please note that Flat 1 Martins House is best suited to peaceful, family-style stays. Please take consideration whilst booking as the property is not appropriate for parties, hen or stag groups, or events of any kind

Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00
Flat 1 Martins House has a lovely garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that loud music is not played outside after 22:00
The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Security Deposit/Accidental Damage Waiver

Bookings at this property require either a £150 Security Deposit or payment of a non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver. Where you choose a Security Deposit and we have your payment card details on file (for your security, these details are tokenised), we have the right to charge an amount up to the value of the Security Deposit to your payment card up to seven days after your departure date. In some circumstances, we may require a pre-authorisation of the Security Deposit amount against your payment card seven days prior to your arrival date, which will be released seven days after your departure date, providing no damage is reported or excessive cleaning is required. You may choose to waive the requirement for a Security Deposit by paying for an Accidental Damage Waiver at checkout. This is a non-refundable payment that covers the cost of any accidental damage or breakages to the property or its contents, up to the value of the Security Deposit. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Well designed flat providing 2 bedrooms suffers from early traffic noise from 5am. Although assumed listed building this property would benefit from triple glazing and if able, a barrier behind unused front door to cushion noise Iinto bedroom. Handy rear yard welcomed with seating and BBQ. No instructions on using induction hob. However, host manager speedily arranged delivery of microwave. As all pubs & restaurants were closed for our entire 5 days due to horse fair, the need to cook spoilt our 5 days away. We should have stayed at another location and travelled in to Stow. We would not stay in Stow on horse fair weeks due to this inconvenience. We had agreed early check in at 4 but cleaning team were still at property at 4.15 and not aware. Probably communication issue. Overall this is a lovely flat but due to location and lack of eating facilities at this time we will reconsider & not recommend this week from May 11 - May 15. We hope the owner considers the availability of this property to avoid complaint at this time.

A beautiful cosy and clean flat/cottage .Slightly disappointing that it was situated on a busy road, although the location was central which was good .We had our elderly parents staying with us and as a suggestion I would recommend shower caddy's in the shower's to hold shower gels and shampoo etc, as they were unable to bend down to reach their toiletries which were placed in the shower tray .We stayed in the front bedroom as we had our dog with us, and there was no hanging space for cloths, which meant we were unable hang our cloths up.A few minor tweaks would have made our stay excellent at this property perfect .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over Christmas in 1 Martins House. The flat although very small was beautifully presented, it was cosy and warm with a log burner adding to the ambiance. Hi spec. bathrooms and kitchen and tastefully decorated throughout. Very comfortable beds. The owner was easily contactable and helpful. Also conveniently situated in the centre of town, close to some excellent restaurants, we ate at the Old Porch House and the Old Butchers, both very good. Finding long term parking spaces was difficult, but did find space in the Old Wall street.
