Durum is a beautiful studio apartment which sleeps 2 guests, with an airy bathroom. Arranged over two floors, the apartment boasts a range of modern facilities, as well as a communal courtyard and a much desired off street parking space. Situated just 300 metres from Stow-on-the-Wold's vibrant market square, Durum is only a stone's throw from the many shops, pubs, restaurants and tearooms that Stow has to offer.

This two storey studio apartment is ideal for a weekend away in Stow. The apartment is laid out as follows:

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Durum is located on a quiet side street in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold, one of the best loved Cotswold market towns. Steeped in history, the market square retains its old town stocks and medieval cross, and is overlooked by a number of pubs, shops, restaurants and tearooms.

For your shopping essentials, there is a mini Co-op in The Square, less than a minutes' walk away, or a Tesco Superstore located on the Fosse Way, less than one mile away.
Stow is well-placed for exploring the many scenic towns and villages of the North Cotswolds such as Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Campden, Winchcombe and Broadway.

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend attending a wedding. Positives: - Great location, within 5 min walk to everything in Stow and off the main road so little to no outside noise. - Free off street parking which is super handy (Stow can get very busy at weekends). - Room was clean, comfy and had everything we needed for our stay. Everything worked fine and kitchen etc was well equipped. The self check in was also very easy. Negatives: - There is zero sound proofing on the doors leading out to the main hallway. We were constantly disturbed by doors slamming, people talking in the hallway during the night and early in the morning. Just like someone being outside your bedroom door. - We quite clearly had a rodent issue in the roof/rafters of the property while we were there. Throughout night for all 3 nights we could hear things running around and scratching above us. Not only was it disturbing, it made us quite uncomfortable. I understand these things happen, especially in the country, but we reported this on our second day and nothing was done. - Leading on from the above, after we reported the issue we received an email from our contact at Stay Cotswolds saying sorry and thanks for letting them know. To be honest I expected more. If this happened in a hotel it would absolutely not be ok. I would have expected them to be sending someone round then and there to inspect and deal with the issue. As paying customers on a holiday we should have been compensated in some way for the issues and not being able to sleep for 3 nights in a row. It really put a downer on our trip and it just seemed like they didn't really care. We were leaving the next day so didn't want to waste my time or ruin my weekend further by complaining more but the customer service needs to be better. As I mentioned, these issues are not anyone's fault, but they should be dealt with better. Real shame. - Lastly and this is more a preference, the bathroom is huge and could be utilised much better. They could fit a bath and a shower in there!

The apartment is advertised as being in a building with 3 other apartments that share a communal entrance and hallway. We have checked our records and sadly cannot find your email where you advise of the issues you encountered during your stay. The apartment is in a lovely location tucked away just off the Main Street in Stow. It was immaculately clean and has all you need for a stay in the Cotswolds. It benefits from having a parking space too. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return again soon.

The Old Butchers restaurant is our absolute favourite restaurant in Stow. Despite its name, their seafood is fantastic and you cannot beat their Tournedos Rossini, finished off with a large limoncello!
