Flower Barn is a light and spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self catering Cotswold cottage near Faringdon which is arranged over one level. Offering luxurious and comfortable accommodation, it has been lovingly converted and retains much of the character and charm of the original stone barn. The barn is part of the Goodlake Barns, so multiple barns can be booked to accommodate a larger group if required. Set between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Goodlake Barns offers guests the best of the Cotswolds and the best of the North Wessex Downs as well as the Uffington White Horse practically on your doorstep! The market town of Faringdon is just 3 miles away and caters for most everyday shopping needs and there is a wide range of places to visit nearby.

Accommodation
This two bedroom holiday home near Faringdon s is the perfect dog friendly holiday retreat and ideally located to explore the surrounding countryside on foot. The Cotswold accommodation is laid out as follows:

Living Area & Kitchen
Open-plan kitchen/living area featuring original beams plus underfloor heating. Large glass doors open out in to the courtyard and allows light to flood in.
Kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob and oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cooking utensils and dining table for 6 guests.
Two comfortable sofas are arranged around the Smart TV (with DVD player) and wooden coffee table. WiFi can be found throughout the property.

Bedroom 1
Double bed with bedside tables, chest of drawers and mirror. The bedroom has a en-suite shower room, with enclosed shower, loo, sink and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2
Twin with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and mirror.
Family bathroom with bath (no shower), wc, sink, large mirror and heated towel rail.

Outside
Huge enclosed communal courtyard with outdoor seating available for guests to use, plus a large garden to the back of The Barn.
There is plenty of parking on site but we do ask that you car share where ever possible.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Flower Barn is situated in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Shellingford, located in the Vale of the White House with magnificent views across the Vale to the Uffington White Horse and the Berkshire Downs. You can find a range of amenities including supermarkets, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants and a select few shops, just 3 miles away in

While you are here don't forget to visit; The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Blenheim Palace, the historic town of Burford, Broadway Tower, Folly Tower and the Cotswold Water Park to name a few! There is a fantastic authentic English country pub located 2 miles down the road in the village of Fernham called the Woodman arms, they use freshly-prepared, seasonal ingredients to create wholesome, hearty and delicious meals to delight the senses!

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

This was our third visit - the second this year. I think that speaks volumes by itself. If we want to be really picky, there were one or two minor shortcomings this time - some dirt underneath the settee, noticeable when we moved it, some cobwebs and dead flies on the windowsills, and a vacuum cleaner half full of dust in a wardrobe. Having spoken to the manager, I was sure that these would have been put right before the next guests arrived. This did nothing to spoil our enjoyment of Flower Barn, which was as comfortable and well laid out as usual, and only a short drive to Faringdon with Waitrose, Asda and Tesco to choose from. It is a gem of a place to stay: quiet and peaceful. Will we be back for our fourth visit? Undoubtedly!

The barn was lovely and in a good location for many lovely villages such as Fairford Buscot and towns like Ceirencester and Wytney, The village of Shillingford is very pretty with a church, lovely and quiet. the barn was comfortable with a good shower. The only fault was the mount of fly`s there, apparently they have had the odd fly, as it is rural , but not like we experienced!! the property manager shelly was very apologetic, as she had never seen anything like this , and could not understand from where!! BUT was going to find out. I will add that this would not stop me going back.

We absolutely had the best time staying at Flower Barn. The communication from Stay Cotswolds before the break was excellent which made the destination easy to find and settling in to the cottage easy. The accommodation was second to none and perfect for a family of 3 or 4. Everything was spotless, there were washing up items included and a lovely cake and pint of milk and teabags were waiting for us. The cottage is situated in a small village and was just what we needed to get away from it all. There is a lovely 11th C church which is visible from the cottage and nice to visit. It is easy to drive to Faringdon and Cirencester from Shellingford for days out. We felt so well looked after staying with Stay Cotswolds. On the final day there was a minor issue with one of the toilets, we contacted the manager from Stay Cotswolds who was extremely helpful and apologetic. We would definitely stay at this cottage again and most definitely use Stay Cotswolds again.
