Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Rye is situated on a quiet side street in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold, one of the best known Cotswold market towns. A variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants line the streets, and the historic market square plays host to the Farmers' Market every second Thursday of the month, showcasing fantastic local produce and wares. Stow is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there are many footpaths on its doorstep including routes to the neighbouring villages of Longborough and The Oddingtons, all home to popular pubs for lunch stops.

For your shopping essentials, there is a mini Co-op in The Square, less than a minutes' walk away, or a Tesco Superstore located on the Fosse Way, less than one mile away.
Stow is well-placed for visiting the many picturesque towns and villages of the North Cotswolds such as Chipping Campden, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway.

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date, providing no damage is reported the pre-authorisation will be released 5 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

The room was very clean, including the carpeted areas, and warmed up quickly for the chilly nights. The bed was quite comfortable and the bath towels were in great condition. There also were utensils and bowls, which was convenient. It was a bit difficult at first to understand the shower's controls and the toilet sometimes had a weak flush. The wifi was also not very strong. But overall, it was a great stay!

We stayed in the Rye unit just a short walk into Stow village square. The location was perfect. The apartment is compact but very functional. It was clean and quiet.

A very comfortable, cosy apartment in a great but quiet location. The accommodation is all in one room with a large separate shower room upstairs but is well equipped and had everything we needed for a 5 day stay. The location is fantastic, being only a few minutes walk to the centre of Stow on the Wold and it's proximity to the Fosse Way and having your own parking space makes travelling around the area very easy. Everywhere we visited was no more than half an hour from the apartment. We loved it!

Looking to get out into the Cotswold countryside? Our favourite footpath from Stow follows the Monarch's Way south towards the idyllic Slaughters and on to bustling Bourton-on-the-Water. Be careful not to overindulge at lunch though, Stow's the highest of the Cotswold towns and so your route back will be uphill!
