With its neutral interiors, high end touches and fantastic location, The Shieling has everything needed to create a delightful countryside retreat. This cosy Cotswold shepherds' hut sleeps two guests, in one bedroom, with a shower room. In the cooler months, admire the views from the warm bed or cuddle up with a book whilst enjoying the sounds of the crackling wood burning stove. In the summer months, open the double doors to welcome in the outdoors with views of lovely greenery and the sound of birdsong, a wonderful backdrop for balmy evening dinners or even working from home days! This dog friendly hut is located just a short walk from the picturesque village green of Bledington, with its quaint brook and delicious country pub.

Accommodation
This one bedroom shepherd's hut in Bledington is ideal for a countryside retreat to escape the rush of daily life on a romantic getaway or a relaxing solo break. Five steps lead up to the door and then the single storey accommodation is laid out as follows:

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Bledington is an award-winning village in the Evenlode Valley, along the renowned Oxfordshire Way walking trail. The village benefits from a country pub, The King's Head Inn, a picturesque village green with traditional maypole and a 15th century church. This quaint village frequently hosts an array of popular events, including the Bledington Music Festival, and is a great base for the Big Feastival event in nearby Kingham. For your shopping essentials, there are a number of supermarkets and independent retailers in both Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold.
Guests can explore the North Cotswolds' charming towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton, as well as the scenic villages of Kingham and The Oddingtons. Nearby attractions include Daylesford Organic, Burford Garden Centre and Soho Farmhouse, all of which are an easy drive from the property.

The Shieling is raised, so can only be accessed via a relatively steep set of steps (the bed is also quite high, so a small step has been provided for easier access)
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

Things to Note...

The maximum occupancy for this property is 2 adults. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant
Events are not permitted without prior consent
A security deposit is required at this property
Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00
The Sheiling is a self-contained property in the grounds where the owner lives
Please note there is CCTV outside the owner's front door which covers the parking area (this does not cover the shepherd's hut itself)

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

The King's Head Inn at Bledington should not be missed! Set on the village's green with its babbling brook, this local inn offers a fantastic menu championing local, seasonal produce and a lovely wine selection!
