This family friendly cottage offers ample space with a country style kitchen, homely sitting room and cosy bedrooms each with countryside views. This 17th century home has an abundance of character features, with an inglenook fireplace, exposed wooden beams, traditional wooden panelling and exposed stone mullion windows. Outside, a mature front garden leads down to Minchinhampton Common, and a tranquil enclosed rear garden features a soothing pond. With its central location and countryside setting, Primrose Cottage is a wonderful base to explore the South Cotswolds with friends and family, even welcoming one dog!

In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Primrose Cottage overlooks the large open limestone grassland of Michinhampton Common - making it the perfect dog friendly holiday home. This unusual 580 acre landscape has been deemed of Special Scientific Interest managed by the National Trust, it also houses one of the oldest golf clubs in the West of England, making this site highly popular with walkers and golfers alike.
The cottage sits in Rodborough, equidistant from Michinhampton and Amberley, all benefitting from numerous shops, pubs and eateries. The Bear of Rodborough is just a four minute walk from Primrose Cottage, serving delicious meals throughout the day. The nearest town of Michinhampton is a secret gem nestled on a hilltop offering dramatic vistas of the surrounding countryside, common land and the Severn Estuary. This ancient market town has retained its traditional charm with narrow streets lined with honey coloured Cotswold houses making it well-known locally for its beauty.
For your shopping essentials, there is a locally owned butchers, delicatessen and small grocery store in Michinhampton. Further afield in Nailsworth, there is a larger Tesco Express, Morrisons and Co-Op.
Just over a mile from Nailsworth and about four miles from Stroud, Rodborough is a great base to explore the South Cotswolds. Larger city destinations of Bath and Cheltenham are easily accessible, ideal for day trips. Also within easy reach is the popular Gatcombe Park, home of the Gatcombe horse trials, and the renowned picturesque village of Painswick.

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.
