Overview

Guinea Cottage is a cosy farmhouse annexe near Malmesbury which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with a newly renovated shower room. This dog friendly home away from home is laid out across the ground floor and boasts a wood burner in the open plan living area, and a picturesque private garden which overlooks rolling fields. Guinea Cottage benefits from having a rural location, yet with the M4 close by, the cities of Bath, Salisbury and London are easily accessible for day trips.

This two bedroom holiday cottage in Upper Seagry is perfect for a family break, or for a romantic retreat in the Wiltshire countryside. This single storey accommodation is laid out as follows:

Booking & Payment

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

Guinea Cottage is located on the outskirts of Upper Seagry, a peaceful village with a popular country pub, The New Inn. Surrounded by stunning countryside, there are many walks on its doorstep including footpaths to neighbouring Great Somerford, home to a pub and village shop.

For your shopping essentials, there are independent retailers and supermarkets in Malmesbury and Chippenham.
Upper Seagry is well-placed for visiting the picturesque towns and villages of the Southern Cotswolds such as Cirencester, Tetbury and Castle Combe, and is also within easy reach of the cities of Bath and Bristol.

The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)
Bed linen and towels are provided (duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic)
Off street parking is available for 2 cars
1 highchair is available on request, however travel cots are not provided, so guests will need to bring these with them

Please note there are free-range chickens and guinea fowl around, so dogs must be kept under control

Security Deposit

A security deposit of £150 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage and surrounding farm. Lovely to wake up to beautiful patio area with flowers and surrounding fields and to see free roaming poultry and deers bouncy around. Beds very comfortable and bedding of a good quality, lovely bathroom which seems recently refurbished . Miniature toiletries in the shower and good quality bath towels. Great size smart tv and decent quest WiFi. We received a bottle of wine upon arrival which was nice. Such a lovely place but unfortunately was let down by the cleanliness of the kitchen, everywhere else was perfect. Cutlery draw was all greasy including all the cutlery (must of been cleaned in dirty greasy water) inside the oven could of been wiped down (found dirty grill tray inside used by previous guests) we had to give it a good scrub so we could use it. The bbq was not cleaned by previous quests and smelt bad, so we decided to give a bbq a miss. There's a cordless hoover in cupboard which would have been useful but battery was flat and could find no way of charging, so pointless having there. Used the dishwasher 2 times but it smelt really bad inside maybe the drain or wastage pipe needs looking at, smelt like rotten eggs but the worst part was the fridge. It obviously hadn't been cleaned in some time, had such a terrible odour and the draw at the bottom was filthy, hairs and some sort of sludge, so off putting. The sofas and cushions were also stained, the small sofa no one liked to sit on because it's so uncomfortable. Such a shame because this is a beautiful cottage and I would of definitely have returned if it wasn't for the negatives. Someone needs to address these issues to the cleaner, then it would be fantastic
