Middle Barn is a contemporary styled Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps six guests, in three well-appointed bedrooms, with two modern and functional bathrooms. On the ground floor you have the perfect open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room for you and your guests to relax and socialise in, which leads out onto the courtyard garden, which has an outdoor table and seating for six. Middle Barn is a dog friendly holiday home, suitable for a medium sized dog, and also has an electric car charging point.

StayCotswold is a marketing agent and therefore does not own any of the cottages listed on our website. In terms of cleaning and maintenance, the properties within our portfolio are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for the person managing your property. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.

For bookings commencing more than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.

Location Information

The historic market town of Chipping Norton is one of the more lively Cotswold towns, well known for its vibrant High Street and wide selection of independent shops, top-quality restaurants and pubs. The town includes a noteworthy church, theatre, museum and open-air Lido too!

For your shopping essentials, there is a Co-op and a Sainsbury's just a few minutes' walk away.
Chipping Norton is well-placed for visiting the nearby Cotswold honeypots of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water, as well as local attractions which include Chastleton House, Blenheim Palace and Soho Farmhouse. Just five miles away is Kingham Station which has direct trains to London Paddington, making this a great choice for those looking to explore further afield destinations as well. Security Deposit

A security deposit of £250 is required for bookings at this property. This amount will be pre-authorised on your credit card 7 days prior to your arrival date and, providing no damage is reported, the pre-authorisation will be released 7 days after your departure. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival.

Had a lovely stay at Middle Barn for a couple of nights in March for Mothers Day. Comfortably slept 5 adults and a baby. Had everything we needed (apart from a corkscrew!). Would stay again.

Great location, but a little tricky to find initially so instructions provided were useful. Easy booking process and savings were worth it going directly with the agent, rather than via Airbnb which is what we found it on originally. Good information provided on local amenities and the property is kept very clean and in good condition on the whole. Noticed the property itself is actually up for sale via a local estate agent - whether this will affect future rentals I'm not sure. Heating timer seemed a bit random (got very hot at night so often had to turn off). Would definitely recommend staying again in the future though as ticked all the boxes for what we wanted and liked the extra free night thrown in as well.

This is a lovely, well appointed and located cottage. Unfortunately the let down was the lack of instructions for the EV charger and a complete failure of the property manager to respond to 2 requests for information/help. I sent an email request I sent several weeks before our stay for information on the cable type needed (FYI it turned out to need a Type 2 cable). I also left a voicemail on our first morning in the cottage asking for instruction on how to get it to actually start charging. I ended up contacting the maker of the charger who suggested a suitable app to download but the app couldn't "find" the charger. I suspect it hasn't been set up properly. This meant I had to spend several hours away from my friends and family while I recharged my car at other local public charging points. Since we chose this cottage over other options specifically because it advertised as having onsite EV charging this was a big disappointment. So I won't be staying there again but it would still suit groups who don't want onsite EV charging.
